Chapter 12

Noon, Spring 1953, Unclaimed rogue lands, Tokyo

Gideon was being dragged by the mysterious figure of white fur. He struggled the whole way there.

"I suggest you stop struggling unless you want to be killed, rabbit" The figure growled.

Gideon was then thrown in a large pit area. The area reeked of dogs. This must be a territory for rogue dogs or pet dogs gathering together.

The figure revealed himself out of the bush of green leaves to be a white labrador retriever.

Gideon looked up at the rogue labrador retriever and then back at the three rogue or pet dogs staring down at him.

All four pairs of eyes pierced Gideon as he looked back at them. The labrador retriever padded to the first dog, a gray and white husky that matches the colors of storm and snow.

The second dog, a long and fluffy furred white dog with a black patch on it's right eye, turned to face a beautiful short furred, dusky brown dog.

The male husky continued talking to the male labrador retriever as the fluffy female dog was gossiping to the short furred female dog.

The beautiful female dog turned to face Gideon. She never showed any aggression or fear towards the magic controlling rabbit.

"Alpha, what are we going to do with that rabbit?" The labrador retriever asked as he glanced at Gideon.

Alpha glared at the rabbit. "We'll keep him here for a bit" He said. "If he dares escape or harm us, we'll kill him"

"What will we do with the body?" The labrador retriever asked. "If the humans smell his rotting body and track us-"

"I already took care of that" Alpha said as he stood up, revealing his muscular body. "The humans will have no idea a rabbit was killed here and left to rot. We'll eat him"

Gideon shook in fear. The dusky brown female dog shook her head with the white, fluffy dog.

Alpha padded to Gideon. "Greetings, rabbit. My name is Alpha" He said. "That white dog is Cedar. The fluffy white dog with the black patch is Moon, and the short furred, dusky brown dog is Sweet"

"Are you guys rogues? Are you pet dogs?" Gideon asked.

"We are born wild and free" Alpha said. "Sweet is born wild and passive. She's very docile"

Gideon turned to Sweet and saw her curled up, bored of everything. Gideon turned back to Alpha.

"Do you guys at least have Ancient Dog blood?" Gideon asked.

"Ancient Dogs? Who are those?" Alpha asked as Cedar snickered. "We were born wild and free in America"

Gideon realized the Ancient Dogs may be lost forever. But that wasn't his purpose. He wanted to leave so he can find the Wise One.

"We conquered a few American lands" Alpha went on. "We killed off a group of wild cats in the pine forest. We killed off some cats by the river and some where the moors are. We also took out the cats that live in trees"

"I need to save my friend" Gideon interrupted. "I can't find him. We ran away from the animal snatchers but he's missing"

"Animal snatchers? Do you mean the animal control?" Alpha asked.

"The animal control may have snatched up your friend and took him to the animal shelter" Moon said.

Sweet woke up and looked at Gideon, then back at Moon. "Can we help him find his friend?" She asked.

"We have nothing else to do" Moon said. "Will Alpha let us?"

"I will come and help your friend" Alpha said. "Tonight. At midnight we will get your friend free"

"The Tokyo Animal Shelter is a good place to find him" Cedar said. "Most animals go there"

"I hope the animal snatchers didn't take him to animal prison" Gideon said.

"Why do you call them animal snatchers?" Alpha asked.

"They steal animals and throw them in animal prison" Gideon said. "Most of them get killed and it's unethical!"

"I've been there. I escaped and formed this little pack of 'rogues' as you call us" Alpha said. "By the way, what's your name? I don't want to keep calling you rabbit"

"The name's Gideon" Gideon said.

"Alright then, Gideon. Let's head for the animal shelter" Alpha said.

"Just consider yourself lucky, rabbit. You're lucky I didn't kill you on the spot" Cedar said. "Now I have to miss dinner to save a piece of prey!"

"Let's go! To the animal shelter!" Alaska yelled.
