Midnight, Spring 1953, Animal Shelter, Tokyo

They had no clue what to do. They were pacing around, searching for ways to pick the lock.

Alpha unsheathed his claws. "Let's see this method" He said as he put his claw in the lock.

He began twisting and turning until he heard as click sound. Alpha pulled out his claw and the lock fell down.

"I did it!" Alpha yelled as he opened the door. The room was dark and full of cages. The cages all had animals in them.

"All these animals have been held prisoner by the animal snatchers" Gideon said.

"They're either going to die or find a better home" Sweet said.

"Hopefully they make noise so Breezeblaze can hear and take their spirits to the stars when they die" Gideon said. "Or hopefully they can be happy as a pet"

"What's a Breezeblaze?" Alpha asked.

"Breezeblaze is a strong and fast god of spirits" Gideon said. "If an animal dies, other animals have to make noise upon their death so Breezeblaze can take the dead's spirit and take them to the stars. He guards the living and the dead. The stars are all the dead animals Breezeblaze has collected. He works with Purple Wolf and Leo"

"Purple Wolf? Leo?" Alpha asked.

"Purple Wolf is the skillful and graceful goddess of protection" Gideon said. "She protects the living"

"Then who's Leo?" Moon asked.

"Leo is the courageous and honorable god of guiding" Gideon said. "He guides the hearts of all animals and guides them to courage"

"Strange. I didn't know you believed in gods" Alpha said. "We walk alone, stars or not"

"They gave me a scary prophecy before" Gideon said.

"Oh? What is it" Alpha asked as Cedar snorted.

"The dawn of the darkness is here. Soon we will bear the dawn of war, battles and bloodshed." Gideon said. "Night, rose, and shade will come together to defeat the eternal darkness and return the light. The moon is no longer your friend. It has betrayed the night. It has betrayed the dark. It has betrayed the fallen warriors that watch over us. It has betrayed all of Japan"

"Jeez. Sounds like you're going in world war three already" Alpha said. "We just had two"

Gideon sighed. "I still don't know what it means" He said.

Gideon noticed a tuft of snowy white fur on a cage bar. He sniffed the tuft of white fur. "The Wise One?" He asked.

"Looks like signs of struggle. We need to keep searching" Alpha said.

Gideon could make out the shape of a snowy white rabbit. It was the Wise One!

"Wise One!" Gideon yelled.

"An old piece of prey? Really?" Cedar asked.

Gideon ran to the Wise One's cage. "You won't be a prisoner anymore!" Gideon said.

Alpha padded to the cage and unsheathed his claw to pick the lock.

"Dog! Run, Gideon!" The Wise One said.

"Relax old man. I'm just trying to help" Alpha said.

"Wise One, this is Alpha. That white dog is Cedar" Gideon said. "The white dog with the black patch is Moon. The short furred dog is Sweet"

"How do you know these dogs?" The Wise One asked as Alpha finally opened the cage. "Are they pets or rogues? Are they pet born or rogue born?"

"Cedar snatched me away like an animal snatcher" Gideon said. "Alpha introduced me to their little group. They are rogues and are always rogue born"

The Wise One snorted. "At least they didn't kill you" He said. "Thank you, Alpha"

"Anytime. We can take you to our group to rest up" Alpha said.

"We promise we won't bite!" Sweet said.

"We'll see. Get in my way, and I'll kill you on the spot" Cedar growled. "Grr, I'm an evil yandere looking for my senpai!"

"You're not scary" Moon said.

"We'll rest up. It's still midnight" Gideon said.

"Great! We'll take you back to our group" Alpha said.

Gideon and the Wise One followed the four dogs.

"You trust these rogue dogs? You sure they won't kill us overnight?" The Wise One asked.

"I'm certain. Cedar thinks he's so tough, but he's really not" Gideon said. "He just never gets his way"

"This is where we live currently" Alpha said. "Make yourselves at home. Please don't disturb any of us"
