Gin: Fanfiction relates to a fictional story written about something that you are a fan of. Like I'm a fan of the Nintendo franchise so I might write a fanfiction regarding the argument that ultimately led to the creation of Smash. A trope regards an idea or situation that characters are often put in. Such as the fake-dating trope.
