Voldcaldera wasn't known for its snow, or particularly its cold weather in general, but when it did snow, it was a sight to behold. The beautiful, glittery, and icy crystals were a treasure to everyone around. Even though the city was predominantly inhabited by dinos who loathed the cold weather, they still took the time to welcome the wintery wonderland as it made itself known.
People around began putting the heaters to the maximum, and heat lamps were already going out of stock. It was a sight to behold, and a welcomed one at that. This was Ripley's first time celebrating the holidays in such a long time. Ripley's sister had a mini-heart attack when she saw him at the door; she cried and eventually let him into her tiny apartment that was barely suitable for even one person.
She busted out the hot chocolate and slid it over to her brother and his friend. Rachael and Samantha became fast friends at the moment of their meeting. Rachael began telling embarrassing stories about her brother, while Ripley tried to cover her mouth but failed due to her being above his height and taller than him. It was all fun and games for the three; Rachael hadn't expected this and would give her brother a good 'thwack' on the head for not telling her he was coming over. She would have gotten prepared even if she had an hour to make do.
The three spent the time underneath the warm covers watching TV on the couch and laughing together. The heater was on full blast and kept them warm and cozy. Samantha was nestled up against Ripley's side while they shared one thin blanket. Rachael wasn't watching the TV at the moment; she was too busy watching her brother and his 'friend' at the moment as they laughed at the stupid corny jokes on the screen.
The sun had long gone down, and the moon was fully out. Rachael had offered they could spend the night by her taking the couch while they took the bedroom. She did that just to make her brother flustered, which did make him go into tomato mode. It was all worth it to see her little brother all flustered and stuttering.
They took the offer; they didn't feel like going back out there when it was in the middle of the night and currently snowing. If she went at a slow and safe speed limit, they'd probably reach their city by morning. However, Samantha did want to go out and see the beautiful, freshly snowed city. The snow had stopped falling after a few hours, but it was still icy and very slippery outside. News reports said there would be more snow later on in the coming week, so they better get home sooner than later.
Ripley wanted to see the city as well; his sister always talked fondly about the beautiful city she lived in but purposely neglected to mention she lived in the city's most horrible district for obvious reasons. They had one last meal together and bid her sister farewell for now so they could go and explore the glowing, bustling city.
Even though it was extremely cold outside and she could still see a bit of snow falling, she was determined to see the beautiful city of crystal white in all of its glory. They had ridden through the city previously, but that was probably only a fraction of what was in store for them.
Samantha had unearthed her bike from underneath all the cardboard and trash. She was a bit disheveled when she saw the small bits of scratches and a few alarming liquid stains on her bike that made her want to vomit. She expected this, fortunately enough, which is why she brought a towel with her and dried off and washed her bike before they set sail for downtown Voldcaldera.
Hopping on the bike, Samantha and Ripley sped off through the wintery wonderland and toured the beautiful city of white, which was absolutely stunning at night. Everything around them was underneath a thin sheet of snow as they went around and took in the sights of the magic city that was lit up by the early Christmas decorations and a few Thanksgiving props here and there. It was a gorgeous view for them. Samantha stopped at a red light and smiled into her left mirror when she felt Ripley's arms wrap a bit tighter around her.
