Inco rolled over in his sleep and gently patted the spot next to him, his hand going over Olivia's waist and what he presumed was her stomach. His eyes were closed, and his face had a delighted smile; he had it all and loved where he was in life.
He placed his chin on the baryonyx's head and nuzzled her. Wait a minute. Inco's eyes opened, and he pulled away to see that it actually wasn't Olivia in bed but a large Gundam body pillow that she had gotten Inco (funny enough) several weeks prior since he was a hugger when sleeping. Inco groaned and stood up straight in bed, pulling down the covers to see that his wife was indeed gone from her usual spot.
He rubbed his eyes and glanced at his digital clock next to his bed, looking at it tiredly, his eyes blinking to adjust to the darkness. His eyes finally started to adjust, and he saw that the blurry red of the digital clock had morphed into numbers. It was 2:01 in the morning, and she was gone from bed.
He yawned and gently hopped out of bed, grabbing a robe that he had close by. His old one was torn because of... specific reasons, so he had to buy a new one. He looked down and saw that her usual slippers were gone as well. She had those ones for so long that he offered to buy her new ones, but she always declined because she loved these ones, even though they grew a mouth so you could see her toes through them.
Inco rubbed his eyes, still very tired, and wondered why, on earth, she was up this late. It was a Saturday, but not everyone could stay up late like she could. He didn't bother to get his prescription shades since he was indoors, and the hallways and rooms were dark.
He passed by the princess's door and saw it was cracked open just a bit. He peered in and saw the axolotl's bed tank was empty. He could also see towels on the floor and wet footsteps around due to the nightlight she always had on; it was an adorable Little Mermaid night light that had an Ankylosaur mermaid holding a bright flame on a rock that illuminated the surroundings.
This made his suspicions rise quickly. Where on earth were they? It was the weekend, so Luna did tend to stay up late, but not past twelve! He closed the door and made his way towards the stairs, seeing that the stair lift was at the very bottom. He could also see that the bottom of the stairs was illuminated brightly, with various colors dancing on the floor. He now knew that the TV was definitely on since he could hear voices from the giant flat screen they owned. He made his way down to the bottom of the stairs and was immediately blinded by the bright light of the TV. "A-Arggh! What the hell?"
It took some time for his eyes to adjust to the bright, intense light of the screen, but when they did, he finally found where his family had gone. Olivia was sitting on the sofa, watching the TV screen eagerly while munching on some cake, ice cream, and small candies, and he saw some leftover chicken bones and pizzas on plates that sat on the coffee table.
She was too engrossed in the show to realize that her husband had found her downstairs, looking like a meth-addicted woman who was grinning like an idiot. Her eyes were fixed on the TV; she was bouncing up and down on the couch while taking a bite from her strawberry cake that left her snout pink. "God damn it, you idiots! How have they just barely discovered that it was this dumbass all this time? He's literally gone and BEEN insane!"
Inco then noticed that a small ball of pink was cuddled up against Olivia. Olivia's arm was wrapped around the little axolotl, who was somehow still awake but looked like she was half asleep. Scratch that, the axolotl looked like a zombie. He also saw that the axolotl's mouth had a bright cherry-red stain on it; he guessed it was from the strawberry cake that she must have had. Scratch that, it was. He could literally see her holding a plate, and her facial expression looked completely dead due to how tired she was.
