August 20th 201M B.C. 1993 (many years before Anon and Lucy were born)
The hot Californian sun was a hellish misery to everyone who lived in California, or just anyone in general who lived in the infernal and God-forsaken state that barbecued dinos and humans alive. It was August now; the summer was reaching its conclusion, but that didn't steer away the boiling sun of the heated plains.
Why couldn't his father ship him off somewhere that was much cooler? Why did it have to be here, of all places? Seriously? He knew his father hated him, but come on, really throwing him to the wolves, packing his stuff, and throwing away like he was junk? Throwing him into California of all places? Why couldn't it have been up north, where it was cooler, or at least to the neighboring city where the coastline was? He'd kill to dip his sore feet into the ocean's cool water; that'd be nice right about now.
His sunglasses were on his snout as he lugged his heavy luggage around the large campus. He saw many dinos and humans alike; it was split down the middle on how many there were. He hadn't seen this many dinosaurs and humans together in one place before.
The place he was before was mostly a human-dominated area; he saw the occasional dinos around, but they didn't want anything to do with him. It's not like he really interacted much either; he liked to keep to himself and not cause trouble. Raptor Jesus knows he's already brought enough trouble back home.
No wonder why his father shipped him off here.
The lanky and scrawny-looking winged black-brown and orange ptero had a toothpick in his beak. He looked around and saw what appeared to be the dorms he'd be staying in for the remainder of his time here. His eyes cast downward, and he remembered the fight he had with his father before he left for the bus. He didn't want to ever see him again; his mother was no different. She didn't care at all; all she cared about was the monthly check from the government and buying a pack of booze and those god awful cancer sticks that could go to something worth more than debauchery.
The only person he could count on was his big sister, Rachael. He snickered as he crunched the toothpick with his sharp beak and then spat it into the trash he walked past. His family was so stupid and retarded sometimes; he was no different, though.
He did, after all, give his father many good reasons to ship him off here. Just thinking about the 'R' family that he was a part of made him mentally disgusted. He didn't know which side of the family had adopted only 'R'-lettered names. All he could remember was his great-great-great-grandparents, and then up the list was his family. He didn't know how long the lineage went on, but he didn't care.
Ruth was his mother, Riley was his father, and Rachael was his sister. And he was Ripley. He rolled his eyes at that; he was always made fun of because people confused his name for a girl's name and had a stupid family tradition he genuinely didn't care for.
Who was the dumb idiot back then who decided they wanted their entire bloodline to have only 'R' lettered names anyway? So damn stupid. He would rather get his testicles cut off than continue on the 'R'-lettered tradition. He sure as hell wasn't going to scout for a girl who had an 'R'-lettered name as well. Stupid as fuck.
He pulled out another toothpick and brought it to his beak; he placed it back where the other one was previously and headed off to the large building that easily overshadowed everything around. He looked to the right and saw the outline of what he'd assumed would be his hell for the next few years.
The building looked old; his new residence looked as if it came straight out of the fifties. It smelled nice; he'd give them that, but the inside was a blast from the past that had overwhelmed him a bit. He took off his sunglasses, hooked them onto his collar, and looked around. He gazed around and took in the beautiful sight of the front desk area and the decorated furniture and walls.
