"You didn't think it would be this easy did you?"
The Snow Queen. Of course it would be the Snow Queen, who else could have puled something like this off. Vicky maybe think she is the worst villain who is currently walking the magical realms but even she falls small to the original villains like the Snow Queen. And there she was, standing above them in her magical dragon with a sadistic smile on her face, like this situation wasn't effecting her at all, like she wouldn't disappear into thin ear like the rest of them at sunset.
In truth she didn't care. She didn't care about the magic ending. She didn't care about the impact such action will have on human lives. No, the only think she cared about was wining. And that was evident by her dismissal of her own villains team, it was clear to every one watching they were a distraction, a means to an and and the serve their job just fine. By the time they were captured and she showed up to take the glory it was almost sunset. Time was almost up.
Our heroes didn't seem to give up. The had something to fight for, their friends, their families and their word. So they got in position ready to take everything she throw at them.
"You still want to fight? Even when you know will lose? Fine by me. I'll make sure your end will be as painful as it gets" The Snow Queen raised her wand, ready with a spell and fired at them. But the blow never came. The spell had been redirected and standing in front of them was one Kira Snow Queen dressed head to tow in armer and at the side of them was Cirus, holding Vicky back.
"I don't think so grandmother" The shock on the Snow Queens face was evident.
"Hold up! Time out!" Travis yelled.
"Since when are you an our side? I thought you took pride in been the worst of them all and following her footsteps" He continued while pointing at the terrifying figure in the sky.
"Travis this is not the time to be leery of someone" Lingling's please fell in death ears.
"And calling the Snow Queen grandmother, what's up with that?"
"Look beasty boy, there is a lot of information you are not aware of. For now all I ask is you trust me enough to fight besides you" Just as Travis was about to answer with a snide remark at Kira's comment a voice shouted .
"Enough!" Dozens of icicles were thrown at the heroes direction forcing them to split up and hide for cover behind the rumble that was caused by the earthquake. Rose along side Hawk and Kira hide behind a broken wall, Travis and Lingling were face a similar situation a few meters to their left and Joy with Astoria found cover jut a little behind them in same montane of rock. Explosions made by the huge dragon followed the original blasts
"You cannot blame me for being suspicious of her. So far all she's ever done is making our life miserable"
"Travis this is really not the time of this conversation! Maybe if we make it out in one peace we can see why Kira had a sudden change of heart" Astoria was having any of Travis' attitude at the moment and did not mind speaking her mind about it.
"Look, I know I have done nothing to earn your trust but you have to believe me when I say I want to help you save magic any way that i can" At Kira's words the entire team seamed skeptical, only Rose appeared happier.
"I believe you Kira. Every one disserves a second chance. We all want to save magic and the only way we can do that is by working together, as a team" With the help of Rose's encouraging words everyone looked a little bit more sure about those days outcome.
"Rose is right. Astoria what's the plan?" Hawk always ready to face any challenge head on asked while placing a reassuring hand on top of Rose's. With her by his side he knew they could anything.
"Our mane gool at the moment is to take down the Snow Queen as fast as we can, it's almost unset. Then we can transfer the belief of the students to the orb and hopefully it will recharge it" Astoria's confides in her voice didn't let her nerves for the situation show.
"It won't work" All eyes fell on Kira.
"The shear is broken. That's why it's loosing energy. Even if we have enough to recharge it, it won't be able to hold it" She explained
"So what do we do now?" Joy voiced everyone's thoughts.
"It can be repaired. But i need your help to do it" Kira turned to face Hawk.
"Only me? Why?" An obvious question.
"The outer shelve of the shear is been held together by some combination of Snow White family magic and Snow Queen family magic. I believe if we work together we can repair it, at least until we get the job bone" Everyone seamed puzzled and wary of how exactly Kira know that information. Hawk looked at Rose silently asking for her opinion on the mater. She looked thoughtful at first but then nodded agreeably at the plan.
"It is settle then. Kira and Hawk repair the shear while the rest of us defeat the Snow Queen" Everyone agreed and the standed ready to fight. As the were about to leave Hawk grabbed Rose's hand, brought her to him and kissed her.
"Be safe" He whispered.
"I will. Be safe too . I love you" She replied while staring in to his eyes.
"I love you too"
"Rome and Juliet! If you are done making out and be all lovey dovey, we have a word to save!" That side comment earned Travis a smack at the head by Astoria.
Repairing the sphere was no easy job but neither was fighting the Snow Queen and her dragon. Bothe parties work as fast as they could to keep up but as time went on winning looked impossible.
As time went on, their magic became weaker and weaker until it was almost no more. The Snow Queen took advantage of this moment and fired a couple of surprised shots that trapped the heroes into ice, even the ones that out of instinct when they saw their magic begin to fade. Now in the middle of the school yard stood the Snow Queen and six ice cubes.
The heroes were frozen inside them all in various posies. Astoria was hit in the back, Joy look like she was flying backwards, Travis has fallen in front of Lingling in an attempt to protect her that resoled only in them been stack together, Rose and Hawk looked like they were reaching for each other but with no luck, only Kira looked lest shocked and afraid than the rest of them. She was looking her grandmother in the eye, challenging her to do her worst.
"It's a pity really. All that effort and for what? Them? A handful of humans that will never believe in anything that you stand for, that will eventually turn against you and use everything they have to destroy you. They are not worth it. I know, I've seen it" The cruelty in her words was evident.
"I have good news for you though. You will not be alone in your final moments. You see before i came here I made small stop to pick some people up" She raised her wand and with a small movement a hand full of snow globes appeared and in side you could see the elder members of the grate families, all of our heroes parents and grand parents.
"And just in time, the sun is setting" The bright oranges of the down once happy joyful colors now signaling defeat. It was over. The lost. Now they were fading away.
"No!" A voice yelled.
