The nurse walks in and talks to you as two nurses roll Eddie back in from surgery leading to you waiting for him to wake up. He had injured his shoulder and found out that he would need surgery a week earlier to fix the damage since it was his tricep that got torn and you knew he was nervous for it and had asked you to make sure that the hospital didn't give him pain meds or opioids unless the pain was unbearable, he woke up an hour and a half later feeling very hazy and tired as he tried to open his eyes but couldn't which made him scared as you grabbed his hand, "Eddie, it's me baby" he groaned before shooting up and looking around frantically which you thought was because of the pain until you saw him try to take his IV out once he saw the small pump. You quickly grabbed a nurse who told you the pump was morphine for the pain and would be administered if he or anyone pushed the button before getting eddie to lay down once the IV was taken out and was given a small pain killer to help with the pain once the morphine wore off, he kept raising up out of bed as you held his hand knowing he was having a reaction to the morphine as it slowly wore off over the next four hours which consisted of him shaking, lightly crying, and anxiety whenever he thought you were gone until you would gently hold his hands and softly speak to him "It's okay, I'm here we're gonna get through this" he slowly fell asleep once the small pain killer kicked in and stayed asleep for the next few hours before waking him up so he could eat some food you went and got from his mom's rather than the hospital cafeteria. The next few days were a slow blur before he was finally released and went home, you help him with therapy to help rebuild mobility and strength for the next few months until he returned to wrestle after five months leading to the two of you celebrating his return when he came home a few weeks later only for the two of you sharing paused kisses until you pulled away after a few minutes only to ask him, "What's all this for?" he laughs before kissing your forehead as the two of you hold each in a tender warm embrace before looking you in the eyes while holding your face in his hands "I can never thank you enough for taking care of me these past couple of months" you smile sweetly and share a soft kiss before opening champagne.
