Akari: Kanada Taichi in Morioka, in June. Shimada Osamu in Yokohama, in August. Yamato Hiroshi in Nagoya, in September. These three died under similar circumstances. Stabbed to death by a cursed spirit at the entrances to their apartments. All of them also happened to complain about the same thing to management recently. They said their automatic doors were left unlocked. None of the other residents noticed it, though.
Megumi: But the dates and locations are all different. Did they really get killed by the same cursed spirit?
Yuji: So, how exactly is the door issue related to the curse? Do they even get picked up by sensors? Since they don't show up on cameras and stuff.
Akari: It's not the sensors. The curse must've influenced the door's operator and made it go haywire.
Yuji: Right... Operators?
Junpei: The things over the metal doors...
Yuji: Ohhhh...
Akari: Whether or not the same curse was behind this couldn't be confirmed by the residuals. A lot of time has passed, after all. So, we tried to track down any connection between the three. We learned that they all went to the same middle school for two years.
Nobara: Meaning all three of them got the same curse...
Junpei: ...and it activated after all this time?
Yuji: OH??
Akari: Precisely. And it's highly likely too. That's why we're on our way to talk to a classmate who knew all three. I'd like you four to observe as sorcerers.
Yuji: Way to go, you two!
Junpei: Eh... it's really nothing.
Nobara: Well... for me, what'd you expect? But Yoshino, give yourself credit. You're a newbie after all.
Megumi: ...Hmph... to think L/N wouldn't be with us this time...
Yuji: Ah right... what was his reason again?
Akari: He's in Shinjuku taking care of a curse that resides in a subway train in the Yamanote Line, placing victims in its domain that makes the train go on forever.
Nobara: ...Creepy... think he'll be okay?
Yuji: ...Well, if he dies... he'll take the curse with him and come back in one piece. But... he'll be fine either way.
