Chapter 10

Ryder's phone goes off and he answers it "what is it?" in his signature don't fu** with me tone. I heard Reese say quietly in my ear "he can't hear me anymore Rae but you need to be careful okay? I have a bad feeling about this week and I know you do too" I subtly nod "yep speaking of which can we trust Victor?" I ask and Reese responds quickly "yes just don't piss him off" I nod and head towards our next destination. Ryder hangs up the phone and tells me to drive to the club we were supposed to go to last night.
When we arrive Ryder looks at me "this isn't going to be pretty but it's necessary" I nod and follow him into the club and up to the office. Before he opens the door he pulls out his phone and sends a text. Ryder opens the door and immediately all eyes are on him. The manager of the club Sebastian looks up and i notice the fear in his eyes that he quickly hides with feigned happiness "Boss so good to see you again what brings you to this side of the pond?" He asks. I can tell Ryder is up to something "ahh just business thought I'd check in and see how business is going." He walks around the room. Sebastian looks flustered "business is booming boss you should be happy we are bringing in a lot of money for you" he says and Ryder looks at him and says "I've noticed you made a few changes to the business" I notice the ice in his tone. Sebastian smiles "ahh yes I only made a few adjustments to make you more money and bring in more business." Ryder reaches the desk and leans forward placing both hands on the desk and looking at Sebastian "you sell prostitutes in my club" he says ice lacing each word. Sebastian gulps and stutters "it's a great business we bring in twice the amount of cash as we used to." Ryder eyes me and I go to stand beside him, he looks back at Sebastian and swiftly grabs the back of his head and slams it down on to the desk instantly breaking his nose. He pulls his head back up and growls "YOU DO NOT MAKE CHANGES WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND NO BUSINESS OF MINE WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH PROSTITUTION DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" Sebastian is shaking in pain and fear with tears streaming down his face "my apologies sir please forgive me I was just trying to make you happy." Ryder menacingly chuckles "BULLSHIT YOU WERE ONLY MAKING YOURSELF RICH" Ryder stands up and leans towards me to whisper in my ear "make sure he doesn't try to run away" I smile at him evilly and lean towards Sebastian who immediately laughs in my face and when he does I stab one of my knives into his hand with enough force that the knife is not only embedded in his hand but the table as well. He screams out in pain and tries to remove the knife "I wouldn't do that if I were you" I growl at him and he immediately stops. I glance over at boss and when I do Sebastian grabs a pen and tries to stab me with his good hand but I am too quick for that in an instant I jam the pen into his good arm and Ryder laughs "she is not someone you want to mess with and it looks like you've just pissed her off" I stand up and as soon as I do there is a knock at the door. Ryder shoots me a look and I walk to the door and open it to see Victor and a man I've never seen before but looks terrifying. Ryder and Victor shake hands and when Victor sees Sebastian he laughs "I see you've been busy Ryder" he says and Ryder looks at me "actually it was her" Victor turns around and looks at me and says "I'm impressed I'll make sure not to get on your bad side" he chuckles and so do I. Ryder looks at Sebastian and says "as of this moment this club and everything in it belongs to Victor and he is going to be making quite a few changes." Victor claps his hands together as if to get down to business "you see Sebastian we don't take kindly to people like you who think they can make their own rules" he puts a hand on the shoulder of the man next to him "this is Blake he runs this club now and will be doing exactly as he is told and if anyone chooses to defy him" he looks at Blake who smiles and finishes the sentence for him "they die" Ryder grabs my arm and says "wait in the car" to me and I leave the room. A few moments later Ryder and Victor walk out and immediately I can tell a weight has been lifted off Ryder and he is back to his normal self. "Ahh Ryder I know you hate to lose a business but it is in good hands I assure you I, like yourself, do not deal with prostitution or human trafficking it is against my code and I do not tolerate those who partake in it." Ryder smiles and replies "I am glad we share the same code and that you were willing to take this off my hands, if you need anything let me know." He walks to the car and gets in and I smile and nod to Victor but before I can get in Victor calls my name "Rae can I have a moment?" I look at Ryder and he nods. I walk over to Victor "back there you handled that nicely especially considering your age, if you ever need anything you give me a call." He says and hands me a card with his number on it. I take it and put it in my pocket "will do and back there was nothing I just don't take kindly to those who piss off my boss" Victor chuckles and pats my back "I like you Rae full of fire, I look forward to seeing you again at the gala." I smile and get in the car and drive off.
