Time leap of one and a half years.
“Junhae, come here to papa.” The kid crawls towards the voice and starts giggling. She rolls on her back and starts throwing hands and legs towards her papa.
“You two having some quality time, huhh? I am jealous.” an old lady approaches both.
“Eomma, come here. See, she can crawl well on her own now. She is growing so fast.”
“Daehyun-ah, give her some time. She will grow normally on her own. Each and every kid takes different time to grow. You take care of yourself. You look more fragile now. Have more food and stop overworking.”
Daehyun gets the milk bottle from the table and checks the temperature on the back of his palm. After that starts feeding the kid slowly, “Eomma, she is just not a normal kid. My pregnancy was so difficult. I used to doubt sometimes that I would be able to let her see the world. I am happy she made it.”
The old lady slowly pats the kids belly and says, “Jun-ahhh is my strong girl, no? She is strong like her papa.”
The kid starts giggling while sucking the milk from the bottle. When the little stomach fills with feeding, Junhae stops taking the feed and the large eyelashes start batting slowly. Daehyun removes the bottle from her mouth and rocks her while humming a sweet song. After Junhae sleeps, he places her in her crib and gets his own bag ready. He has an important meeting today.
The office in which he is working right now, is taking a large contract and he has to present it.
“Daehyun, have some food before you leave. You spend all your time taking care of the kid. I know that's important. But your health is important too. I am keeping lunch here. Take it before you leave.”
“Eomma, what would I do without you?”
Daehyun hugs the lady and kisses on her cheek. Before leaving he stuffs his mouth with a load of food which made her look like a pufferfish.
The place they are living right now, is the nearest village from Pohang. This is the place where he gets peace. After all the ups and downs in his life, this sea and this village keeps him safe.
Daehyun rushes to his office and joins the meeting room.
“Yoongi hyung, the ppts are ready, right? Please ask Jimin to check them all. I am getting ready for the presentation.”
“You don’t have to get tense, calm down. I am calling Jimin here. But, Daehyun-ah, I am telling you, he is slacking off nowadays.”
Daehyun starts laughing, “and I know the reason.”
Yoongi looks at Daehyun who was already pointing his index finger towards him. With a reflex he makes his poker face towards Daehyun.
Everyone gathers in the conference room along with Jimin. A strong smell attacks Daehyun's nostrils.
Cinnamon!?
It can't, I have done so much to hide everything myself. I can’t tolerate it anymore.
“Welcome Mr. Jeon. This is our team for your project. I am Min Jimin, the director; this is Min Yoongi, the manager; He is Daehyun, the project head and rest of all are team under him.”
Daehyun is still standing facing the opposite of everyone. A chill sensation goes down through his spine, breaths are more frequent and there is no sound audible in his ears. He starts shaking and sweating profusely.
“Daehyun, please start the presentation.”
Hearing his name, he gets back to his senses and realizes, it is time to face reality; it is the time to give every explanation to his past; it's time to face Jeon Jungkook.
He slowly turns around and looks straight towards the figure exactly opposite to him. Jungkook stands up in shock as he can't believe yet, that he is truly in front of his destiny.
“Taehyung?”
Jimin and Yoongi look at both of them in surprise. This is impossible, do they know each other? How? From when?
“Please be seated. I would like to introduce myself. I am Daehyun. I am the head of the project. With the presence of my team and my superiors, I am going to start the presentation."
Jungkook's eyes are still on the figure with surprise in them. He slowly gets down from his seat and closes his eyes.
After all these months, he is here? In Pohang? He changed his identity, that's why I couldn’t get to reach him. Taehyung, now you can't escape. You have already done so much destruction in my life, just wait till I return them back.
The presentation went well, not as expected, but it was good. Taehyung stopped various times while explaining the ppts. He couldn’t even look straight into the other's eyes.
“The presentation was fine. But tell me Mr. Daehyun, why should I choose your company when I can have better contracts in Seoul.”
“Mr. Jeon, I would like to inform you that our team is very responsible and trustworthy. They are dedicated to their work and..”
“Sorry, did you just say trustworthy and responsible? Maybe I misheard.”
“Sir, I am well known about my team. You can stay assured about our work.”
“Okay, I will think about it Mr. Min. I am satisfied with the meeting. But I would like to stay here for some days to check on the working procedure and progress in your company. There will be no problem, right?”
Jimin goes near Jungkook and bows, “It would be my pleasure to have you as our guest sir.”
“Daehyun, please take him to my cabin, I will be there within a few minutes after preparing everything for him.”
Taehyung steps forward to Jungkook and tells him to follow. They are now in the director's cabin.
“So, you are Daehyun now?”
Taehyung keeps silent and his head down. He couldn't utter a single word.
“Would you like to explain, Taehyung?”
“I am having a life here, Jungkook. Please don’t spoil it.”
“Spoil? Have I ever spoiled anything, Taehyung? You spoiled everything, you spoiled us.”
“I was the one suffering, Jungkook. It was not you who had to have the life. Forget everything, please. Look at you now, you are successful, you are happy with Sarah now. Why are you dragging the past into our peaceful lives?”
“Yes, you are right. I am successful and happy with Sarah. You are right. Have you ever tried to look back towards us?”
Taehyung remains silent. Meanwhile Jimin enters the room, “I am sorry to interrupt, Mr. Jeon. Please don’t invade the personal space of my employees. This is not the right place. Please keep my earnest request.”
“Mr. Min, I am sorry if I invade his privacy. But he is related to my personal life and I would like to discuss that with him.”
Taehyung looks at him in disgust and excuses himself before walking out.
“Jungkook, I don’t know what is going to happen with you two. Please solve it before it gets worse.”
“Jimin, thank you for the opportunity. I really needed to meet him.”
“I gave you this chance just for your dedication to find him out. Now solve everything. Don't make him suffer more. By the way, I arranged a stay for you. Thank me later.”
