"Hey! Ms. Longlegs! I'm here." I yelled as I walked across the path and at the center of the round stage with only a single spotlight shining on me, and everything turned on not even a second later.
The there were three screens that glowed white with multiple smudges on them before they turned to a purple background like in the tapes about the GrabPack.
"Welcome to Musical Memory! This advanced memory and cognitive recognition test is designed to stimulate several segments of the brain, allowing us to see how quickly and efficiently your brain works. A sequence of colors will be shown, and you must recreate the exact sequence using the buttons around you. Bunzo will slowly lower towards you. When you complete a color pallet correctly, Bunzo will rise back up; when you input a pattern incorrectly, Bunzo will lower towards you faster. If Bunzo reaches you, your test is over. The test will become more difficult as it continues, with longer patterns and quicker succession. That's all, good luck!" The pre-recorded message from the speakers spoke.
I really don't like the sound of this, and with those cymbals, he might crush me to death if he were to reach me; I have to complete this! But... something else about the recording is unsettling me. I mean, why would a place want to observe how a child's brain function? Unless...
"Oh! Isn't this amazing?" Mommy Longlegs spoke up as the sound of a light turning on. I turned around to see her silhouette in a viewing platform. "Mommy hasn't seen the place up and running in years! Mommy can only imagine how excited Bunzo must be. It's been such a long time since he's been able to play, to cheer, to eat..." Mommy Longlegs stated.
The sound of the cymbals banging together above me, caused me to jump with an unexpected fright, causing me to look up from where he hangs, closer down that he was before; I can see the hunger in his eyes, along with something else that I can't identify, as they looked at me down here, grin spreading wider at the thought to finally eat something in 10 years, like some of the other toys here who are just dying to devour fresh meat. "Oh, that's the dinner bell! Good luck~" She said before I watched Bunzo get pulled back up.
(Time-skip)
When round 5 came around, more buttons with letters, colors, symbols, and others came out, and the speaker started speaking very quickly and overlapping which led me to start panic-pressing random buttons. I was stressing out; this must be rigged. I can't die now! I have a little brother to get home to!
That's when I spotted a button circling around with an exclamation mark inside a triangle in the middle section and I didn't hesitate to press it. I don't know if that was the right thing to do because everything started going haywire before the screens faded to black and the buttons disappeared.
I waited for how Mommy Longlegs will react and if this stunt will send me on my way to Death's doorstep, turning to the viewing platform. "Oh... It broke... That's no fun." She whined. I turned my head to the side as I closed my eyes, awaiting my painful and torturous fate.
"For doing such a splendid job, Mommy has decided to give you... part of the code for the train. Look hard." She informed. "Wait, what?" I quietly questioned, opening my eyes and turned by head to her, watching as one of her arms went up and stretch somewhere. I look up to see her hand with a torn piece of paper. "Take it." She said, her voice straining in annoyance and anger. I took the paper as Mommy Longlegs retracts her hand back
I take a look at the paper to see that it is the top part with the images of four different faces: Bunzo, Huggy, Frank- Cat-Bee, and Mommy Longlegs herself.
"Mommy was hoping the game could last a little longer~ It's okay though, Mommy knows... other ways to play with you." She added before she crawled somewhere else.
I heard a sound and saw that the pathway was lifting back up, allowing me to leave. I walked only halfway across when it gave out on me, causing me to slide down to the bottom. I looked around to find a way out, only to see a red light. I walked over to see that it led to a vent that was big enough for me to go through.
I grabbed the handle, pulling the cover down and crawled through, and luckily there were lights in there. I crawled forward, thankfully the GrabPack wasn't getting in the way, following the curve, and then turned left. Just as I did, I heard screaming, banging, pounding from behind, in the Musical Memory room, and it quickly turned quiet. They weren't high pitched like Mommy Longlegs, and they also sounded like... pained shouting. Is she... is she killing Bunzo?
The thought went into my head, and I felt a bit sad for him. He doesn't deserve that. I mean, yes, he was going to kill me, but those were on her orders, and he failed; he wasn't doing it just because he was hungry, he did it because he didn't want to evoke her wrath and die because of it.
There might be more toys here who are suffering because of the parts of factory they're in, probably ruled by the ones who are the strongest in those areas. Those areas you're living in, it's their rules you have to follow. I finally understand what else were in his eyes: fear. Without a doubt, it will also be in the other toy's eyes as I continue to play her game.
It's either my life or theirs in the Game Station.
