(Time-skip after the puzzle)
Me and the Mini-Huggies pushed the cart after we completed the last part of the puzzle. And just before we made it to the slope, we stopped, watching the cart roll down and destroy the wooden barricade. I picked up five pieces that had the sharpest end. "C'mon, kids! This way!" I exclaimed, leading the way like a Mother Duck. I spotted a hole in the ground not far away, looked down to see it was where I entered Wack-A-Wuggy. I tossed the boards down somewhere and away from where I would land as I jumped down.
"I'll catch you guys!" I yelled out to, holding my arms out in front of me. "Herb, you first." I called out. Herb looked down the hole and jumped down, cannonball style and caught him.
"Elmo, you next!" I called out. He looked down the hole, but accidentally tripped over his legs, falling down face first. Just before he hit the ground, I caught him by the legs. I let out a sigh of relief at the close call as I sat him down on his feet; he was shaking like a leaf, poor him.
"Midas, your turn!" I called. It seemed like he took a running start because I saw him throw himself before he fell and caught him fireman-style, and he had the smuggest look on his face like he knew I wouldn't miss. I playfully rolled my eyes with a scoff before setting him down.
"Alright, Jr., you can come down!" I called out too. He looked down and clung to the walls as he climbed down, carefully descending, and just when he reached the end of the hole, he jumped, landing in my arms like a hug, nuzzling into the side of my head. "There we go! Now to the train!" I exclaimed with a jump in my step after I picked up the planks of wood. We walked up the steps up to the Game Station, walked up the other steps to the train. I bundled the planks of wood, making sure the sharp end is away from my face, to pull the trigger to extend the green hand to open the train.
The door opened and Morgan was sitting right there, my hoodie now over their body. She jumped up, letting out a few clicks of happiness, jumping side-to-side in joy knowing that I'm still alive. "Hey, little muffin! Good news, you now have four brothers: Herb, Elmo, Midas, and Huggy Jr." I said, helping the four into the conductor's cabin, Jr. giving head pats to Morgan; they are already getting along. "Now, I only have one more game to play, and then it's freedom! You will all enjoy the sun, love my brother, get a much-needed bath, and I think this is the perfect excuse to use my inheritance money- Anyway, now you guys stay here where it is nice and safe. Oh, and take these." I said, passing them wooden planks, giving Morgan the smallest one because of their small body. "If anyone, or anything, else manages to open this door, then attack and protect each other. And here's some candy when you guys get hungry. Love you all, see ya in a bit!" I said before closing the door, watching them wave goodbye before the door finally closed.
I turned to the consol, walked over and pulled the lever. "Jeez, have you played these before? You're so good!" Stella asked. "Probably?" I replied, shrugging my shoulders. "Seems like you're ready for the final game: Statues! Follow Mommy down the stairs one last time. I hope you had a fun day at the Game Station; see you next time!" Stella said before the voice recording ended as I walked down the stairs and stood in front of the door in the ground. "And see never, hopefully." I muttered as I pulled the lever to slide the door open with both GrabPack hands. I walked down the stairs and walked down the hall.
On the walls, there was this long, fluffy caterpillar with blue and purple fur and a dog's head and had multiple legs with clobbers on every foot it had, making me think back to that video tape with the puzzle that involved the Barry Cart. The guy Marcus talking about a '50-ft. long thing with a thousand legs'. Well, I guess he was talking about this guy.
The door doesn't seem to be opening, but luckily, there was a door on the right wall, and I walked through and entered a place with a bunch of pipes and such. I continued on forward, only to see a room with a puzzle and a cardboard cutout of the caterpillar-dog.
After completing the puzzle, I head back but heard the sound of footsteps skittering, like it had a thousand legs. It only stopped when I left the room back out into the hallway and the door finally opened. I walked through to see the environment looked like an indoor playground.
I walked over to the first part of the playground, which seems to be a maze that was blocked off by a door. "Welcome to Statues. This advanced obstacle course is designed to test your physical endurance and strength. The rules are simple: the lights will turn off; you came through the obstacle course at this time. However, when the lights turn on, you can look around but cannot move. You may move again once the lights turn back off. The lovable Pj Pug-a-pillar will follow you. If Pj reaches you, your test is over. That's all; good luck!" The TV said. Right as the TV introduced Pj, I saw him coming out, right next to the TV, causing my heart to fill up with fear as I can somewhat hear the beating of my heart when I made eye contact.
I shuffle on closer to the gate, ready to make a run for it the moment the door opens; my eyes never left Pj and he was just there, menacingly. I heard the flickering of lights in the viewing platform flickered on, and I see Mommy Longlegs up against the window, the shadow covering over her figure making her look even more creepy.
"It was always so sad to see the kids go. They called me Mommy because I was the closest thing they ever had to one." She said in a somber tone. 'More like had to; it's literally your first name' I internally scoffed. "But they come for games and never come back; they left Mommy to die alone. Mommy didn't deserve that! But you... You worked here... So, if anyone deserves to die alone, it's you..." She stated. That's when the gate rose and the lights turned off, music playing in the background that made it more terrifying.
I didn't waste any time and made a run for it into the maze. I ran forward, turn left, forward, and just as I turned the corner, the music stopped as the lights flickered on; the only sound that I could hear was the sound of clobber shoes that Pj had on his feet. The lights flickered off; the music followed in suit as I quickly ran. Forward and turned left, exiting the maze and into the next obstacle. I grabbed the sides of the arched ladder and traveled up a few rungs when the lights turned on. I looked over my shoulder and saw the last bit of Pj's body exit the tunnel; a sense of dread filling my body.
The lights turned off and i quickly climbed the rest of the arched ladder, came across the platform, and extended a GrabPack hand to a glowing, circular rung of monkey bars just as the lights flickered on. I don't want to look behind me as I heard the footsteps get closer. The lights turned off, the music played, and I started swinging ring to ring. The next time the lights turned on, I was only two rings away; I looked back to see Pj now climbing on the arch.
The lights turned off and I continued to swing and threw myself into the slide. I reached the bottom just as the lights turned on. I looked back to see that he was was walking across the top of the monkey bars. "That's cheating!" I shouted, my voice cracking with nervousness as my walls of composure began to crack. I looked forward to see three different tunnels with signs above the entrances: Easy, Medium, Hard. I don't trust the easy one, because why the heck would they be labeled unless it's trying to trick me?
So, the logical solution is to go through the hard tunnel. I went through the hard tunnel, mentally calling out its bluff. I only took a couple steps in when the lights turned on. 'Is the time limit for the lights getting shorter?!' I yelled in my head. As the lights went out, I continued down the tunnel, mentally scolding myself for going through the hard one. Luckily, there were lights in the tunnel so then I don't have to rely just on sound.
I scolded myself further and further I traversed down the tunnel nonstop, the voice getting louder and louder with each stop. I finally reached the exit of the tunnel and raced forward and walked through a foam cubes pit. When the lights turned on, I realized my mistake when I saw big yellow blocks in the pit meant for me to jump onto and across. I looked behind me to see that Pj just exited the tunnel. The lights turned off and I quickly walked to one of the blocks, climbed on and jumped on one to the next until the lights turned on. Instead of looking back, my eyes looked ahead of me, causing the sense of victory to escape to disappear for the end of the room was blocked off by a slope of debris.
This game... was rigged for me to lose.
