Y/N dropped onto the sandy ground below, the skywing flying away as it left him. He looked all around him, watching as dragons sat all around the giant arena. He tried to move along the arena to get a better view but was stopped as a skywing guard growled at him to stop moving, saying the match was to start soon. Then a loud hissing around the arena was heard signaling the approach of the Queen of the Skywings.
Scarlet enthusiastically came out of her palace to announce the next match alongside her champion Peril, both taking spots that were reserved just for them. Peril because of her firescales and the Queen because, "Because well, I am the Queen," Scarlet thought imperiously.
Meanwhile, Peril looked down at the arena watching the scavenger, still trying to figure out what made it such an interesting opponent for the arena.
The hissing began dying down as Scarlet started to announce the next match.
"TODAY I BRING A MATCH THE LIKES OF THIS ARENA HAVE NEVER SEEN." Scarlet declared, the crowd of dragons roaring in response to Scarlet's declaration.
"YOU WILL GET TO SEE A SCAVENGER LIKE NO OTHER FACE DOWN ONE OF OUR ICEWING PRISONERS IN A DEATHMATCH"
Confused at the matchup, the crowd's roar died a bit, trying to understand how a single scavenger could even have a chance against a dragon.
Upon Scarlet hearing the roars of her audience dying, she began to explain the unconventional matchup.
"I assure you all that this scavenger is like no other not only being intelligent but also having the ability to use the legendary animus magic."
With that declaration, the crowd went almost deathly silent, with only murmurs of curiosity and disbelief sounding from the crowd.
"Peril's eyes went wide upon hearing Scarlet's words, finally understanding why Scarlet wanted to put this scavenger in the arena.
Y/N winced at the announcement, knowing he just had his biggest ace revealed. "Not that I expected to keep it a secret," Y/N thought, knowing that he would most likely use it if he wanted to have a chance at winning the battle ahead of him.
Y/N watched as three skywings returned, carrying an unwilling icewing into the arena, unclipped from the restraints previously holding the dragon on the spire, although still having the wing clamp on.
"And for our other competitor, Fjord of the icewings!!!"
"I guess that hasn't changed," thought Y/N, recognizing the name of the icewing.
"He should have originally fought Clay, and would have won too if it wasn't for Glory." Y/N pondered looking at a tree just outside the arena above him where a lounging rainwing could be seen.
Y/N quickly refocused as he saw the dragon across from him readying to fight, watching as the dragon focused in on him.
Y/N was no stranger to a fight against people but that was not the case here, he stared at the dragon across from him quickly coming up with a plan of attack that he had made a few hours prior.
"Alright, I'll go for the joints first then, go for any weak spots I can find, and finally use my bootleg magic as a finisher. Other than that let's live to see another day." Y/N thought, mentally bracing himself.
"ALRIGHT, CLAWS UP! TEETH READY! FIGHT!"
Y/N slowly moved in on Fjord, watching as the icewing approached in a circling manner looking almost afraid of him.
