Y/N awoke during the night, sitting up as he roused from his earlier sleep, his eyes adjusting to the darkness as he stared into the night.

Moving to his feet, he shook away the stiffness in his body, undoubtedly induced by poor sleeping posture. "What I would do for a nice bed,"  Y/N thought wistfully. From sleeping on hard stone to cold dirt he had not had the best time when it came to getting a good night's rest.

Y/N looked around as he took in his surroundings seeing that he was standing in a vast grassland not far from the river that the dragonets used to travel undetected. As he finished his scan of the surroundings he was unable to spot even one of the dragonets. He panicked as he noticed the lack of dragonets, wondering if the dragonets had abandoned him until a voice sounded behind him.

"You are awake,"  a tired voice sounded out.

Y/N spun around, trying to see where the voice had come from but was unable to locate the source of the voice until he caught a flicker of scales in the moonlight; a pair of green eyes watching him where he stood.

"Watching over me, how nice," Y/N said a bit teasingly, knowing that Clay must have told her to watch over him, however much she may enjoy dumping him in the river.

Y/N watched as Glory snorted at his remark her scales changing colors from blending into the grass to a more visible palette.

"Where are the others?" Y/N asked, still looking around, unable to see any of the other dragonets.

"Away hunting, but they should be back soon,"  Glory said, her neck and head lying across the grass, her gaze still observing Y/N as he stretched, watching as he accidentally scratched his head forgetting that his arm now ended in talons instead of small fingernails.

"Scavenger, What are you?" Glory said curiously, watching as Y/N's unnatural taloned arm glowed softly for a moment the talons becoming dull in response to his desire of wanting his talons to be less sharp.

Glory knew that scavengers were known to steal a dragon's treasure and were considered endangered after the Scorching but the various scrolls and lessons she had learned had never mentioned anything like what Y/N was; From being intelligent and able to speak their language to using the near-mythical animus magic he was undoubtedly far from normal.

Y/N turned back to Glory at her question,  Y/N now wondering about how much of him was now different.

"Am I technically part dragon now?" Y/N thought, looking at his claw arm. However, his thoughts were interrupted by Glory coughing, refocusing his attention on her question.

"A human... mostly?... But you dragons call us scavengers anyway so it shouldn't matter, " Y/N said, not able to give Glory a better explanation that she would be able to understand.

"Ah, before I forget my name is Y/N in case Clay didn't tell you. Nice to meet you,"  Y/N greeted, walking towards Glory and extending his normal hand for a handshake.

Glory stared at Y/N's raised hand unsure how to respond until she raised one talon and "shook" his hand. "Glory,"  She said back in a hesitant voice.

Y/N stood back as he completed his handshake with Glory, both turning towards the river as they heard Tsunami crash out of the river carrying various fish back towards the shore. Y/N noted that his animus spell was still affecting her scales.

A few minutes after Tsunami returned both Clay and Sunny came back carrying food, Y/N watching in shock as Clay dropped what he recognized as an entire hippo while Sunny brought back carrots the size of his arm.
