Y/N's soul shook. He tried to resist and oppose the animus magic being pulled through him. Unfortunately, his soul could only writhe as the animus magic was taken in, the feeling giving off a sense of wrongness, the magic completely disregarding his fundamental being.

The power ran unchecked, even as his soul rebelled against it, the power flooding into his soul. It wasn't strictly harmful or damaging to his soul and practically left his soul teeming with energy; unfortunately, his soul was far, far over capacity. It threatened to burst at any moment, a horrifying sensation that Y/N could not put into words.

Thankfully, as Y/N felt himself reach a breaking point, something nudged at his soul, helping to guide and steal away some of the overflowing energy. Y/N's subconscious practically leaped in relief as it felt some of the power be dragged away, his soul reigniting as it did whatever it could to force the magic outward.

Y/N's soul shook as it pushed the remaining magic out of his soul, returning to its normal state, albeit overwrought and tender after its trial. However, another soul roused as Y/N's soul rested, drawing on the animus magic it had taken from Y/N."So, it can ignore the edicts then," thought the errant soul, now expertly guiding the magical energy. "Truly something for such a small creature," the soul thought, guiding the energy it had taken and directing it into their soul, which had felt rather empty as of late. "Only a drop in the bucket though," the soul grumbled, feeling as the energy he absorbed did almost nothing to fill the shell of his once-filled soul.

His soul had been brimming with power, but the constraints put on animus magic had left him unable to use it outside his soul, let alone allow him to interact with it. "But I, The Great Animus Darksky, have found a way around your feeble rules!" Darksky roared in an upbeat and mildly nonsensical speech. Darksky sighed, however, the never-ending silence once again taking over. It had been a long time, a very, very long time, his only companions being his thoughts and his never-ending boredom.

He had tried everything to find a way to escape his soul's prison, but nothing had worked, leading him to give up an unimaginably long time ago.

Thankfully, that long time of silence had finally changed. During his mindless drifting, an old memory had resurfaced, the memory in question being some of the last words he had ever heard before his eternal imprisonment. "There will be nothing in the world that will free you. You will rot away forever, rejected by us, and the very ground you now lie on." At the time, he had roared defiance as his soul was locked away, but it was now nothing but a memory, all emotions he once carried long forgotten.

"Nothing in the world?" Darksky thought, his mind reigniting as he dwelled on the memory, a very absurd idea pushing into his mind. If there was truly nothing in this world that would help him, then, "What if he got help from outside the world?" It was a thought so foreign and even insane to Darksky's ancient mind; nevertheless, it was a thought he could not dismiss in the slightest.

To Darksky's astonishment and great delight, he felt his soul react after being long stagnant, his remaining animus magic moving after eons of indifference. "WAIT, THAT'S TO MUCH, WAITTTTTT!!!" Darksky shrieked, yelling out as his soul was emptied in an eruption of colorful light.

When Darksky's consciousness recovered, his hope skyrocketed, knowing that whatever he had managed to do would finally allow him to escape his prison.

"But a Scavenger of all things!" Darksky wailed. He had been so hopeful and overjoyed to finally have a chance at being free, only to be greeted with one of the most useless things on the planet.
