In Vaniville Town, a Young Girl named Serena was learning how to ride on her Mother's Rhyhorn, Her Mother was giving her pointers as she and her Fletchling both watched. But Rhyhorn was instead jumping around and was throwing Serena around like she was in some kind of a Rodeo!
Serena and Rhyhorn: (Screaming and Roaring)
Grace: Close your mouth! You don't wanna bite your Tongue... Serena! Remember, you've got to think like a Rhyhorn!
Serena: Easy for you to say!!!!
Fletchling: (Chirps Encouragely!)
Grace: I've competed in Rhyhorn Races around the world and you can do it too! Just stay with it! Be one with Rhyhorn!
But unfortunately, the Rhyhorn ends up throwing her to the ground!
Serena: (Screaming and Groans)
Grace: Or not...
Serena sat up a little bit; she had gotten scratches on her face after she had landed on the ground, before she screamed at this terrible experience, not liking it one bit!
Serena: (Groans) Mom!!! I hate this!!!
Meanwhile, at the Sycamore Pokemon Lab in Lumiose City, a young girl had just entered the Lab to choose her First Pokemon!
Mairin: Hello? Professor Sycamore?
But as the young Spiky Maroon-haired girl called for the Professor, a teenage boy was nearby carrying some research papers in his hands, worried about the stories of Mega Evolution, and feared that it might endanger his Mentor!
Alain(Thinking): What am I supposed to tell him?
Mairin: Professor Sycamore? Are you here?
Suddenly, both of them bumped into each other, causing them to land on the floor, and causing Alain to drop his research papers on the floor as well!
Both: Huh? Oof!! Whoa!!
Mairin stands up as Alain dusts himself off, startled by the girl's enthusiastic voice!
Alain: Oh, boy... (Laughing) I'll tell you... T-That's some voice you have! I sure was startled!
Mairin stood as well, apologizing for bumping into him!
Mairin: I'm so sorry, are you alright?
Alain shrugged it off, reassuring her that he was just fine. As he picked up the research papers that he dropped, Mairin started to help him!
Alain: Don't worry, I'm fine!
Mairin (Sighs) Here... Let me help you with those!
Alain gave a gentle small nod as his thanks, before asking Mairin what brings her here to the Lab!
Alain: Oh! Thank you, young lady... So, what brings you to the Pokemon Lab?
Mairin explained why she was here but couldn't find the Professor anywhere!
Mairin: Well... Today I was supposed to come here so Professor Sycamore could give me my First Pokemon since I'm old enough to be a Pokemon Trainer but, I can't find him!
Alain finished picking up the research papers as he remembered that the Professor was taking a nap from all the work he had done late last night, before he offered to help Mairin while his Mentor was resting right now!
Alain: Oh... Well, the Professor is resting right now after he did a lot of research work late last night! But I could help you in the meantime, if you don't mind...
Mairin nodded, as Alain led her away to another room! In the other room, Alain gave Mairin her Pokedex and some Pokeballs for her to use, before taking out Three new Pokeballs that had the starter Pokemon for New Trainers in Kalos.
Alain: Okay, here's your Pokedex and some Spare Pokeballs for you to use... And here are the Pokemon for Beginners: Everyone, come on out!
Three different Pokemon appeared: A Fire Type named Fennekin, a Grass Type named Chespin, and a Water Type named Froakie!
Fennekin: Fennekin!
Chespie: Chespin!
Froakie: Froakie!
Mairin: (Gasps with Delight!)
Alain: These are the Kalos Pokemon that new Trainers may choose from: Fennekin, Chespin, and Froakie! Which Pokemon will you choose as your Partner?
Mairin smiled, already knowing who she wanted!
Mairin: Chespin... I pick you!
Chespin smiles, before leaping into her arms for a hug!
Chespie: Chespin!
Alain smiled at the two of them, before asking Mairin where she was headed next!
Alain: So, where are you headed next?
Mairin explained that she's planning on entering the Kalos League, starting tomorrow!
Mairin: Well, tomorrow I'm gonna start heading to the Santalune City Gym so I can Challenge its Gym Leader!
Alain smirked, revealing his plans to go on a Journey tomorrow as well!
Alain: Well, isn't that a coincidence? I'm leaving on a Journey to enter the Kalos League tomorrow as well! So I guess that makes the two of us Rivals then, huh?
Mairin: Yep, I guess it does... Hey, if you really want, we could both go together tomorrow, if you don't mind us travelling together, that is?
Alain is a bit shocked at that suggestion, but smiled at the idea of having some friends around. Mairin offers a friendly handshake, before introducing herself to the young research Assistant!
Mairin: My name's Mairin, what's yours?
Alain looks at the Rookie's friendly handshake, before accepting the girl's hand and introducing himself as well!
Alain: My name's Alain, nice to meet you!
The two new friends smiled, knowing that this could be the beginning of both a strong Rivalry and Friendship, which are sure to make the upcoming Kalos League very interesting!
