Ash frowned as he put his Pokedex away as he and Mairin both wondered what Alain's strategy would be this time!
Ash: So Alain's Battling a Pokemon that's both a Flying and a Bug Type!
Pikachu: Pika!
Mairin: I wonder what his strategy will be now, Chespie...
Chespie: Ches...
Alain pulled out his Second Pokeball, bringing out his newly caught Larvitar!
Alain: All right, Larvitar! Let's go!
Larvitar: Larvitar!
Mairin and the others knew that while both Alain and Viola's Pokemon had an advantage and a disadvantage over the other, there was still more than one way to win a Gym Battle right now!
Ash: So now Alain's using Larvitar, who's both a Rock and a Ground Type?
Pikachu: Pika!
Bonnie: But Clemont! Isn't Alain's Larvitar at a disadvantage since it's part Ground Type?
Dedenne: Dedenne?
Clemont: That may be true Bonnie, but Larvitar is also a Rock Type, which is Super Effective against both Flying and Bug Types!
Ash: Your Brother's right, Bonnie!
Mairin: So like I said before... There's more than one way to Win a Gym Battle!
Chespie: Ches!
Alain made the first move, telling Larvitar to use Rock Throw!
Alain: All right, Larvitar! Rock Throw, let's go!
Larvitar did so, but Vivillon gracefully dodged it before following it up with Psychic!
Larvitar: Larvitar!
Vivillon: Viv!
Larvitar: Larvitar!
Vivillon: Viv!
Viola: Use Psychic!
Vivillon did so, causing Larvitar to be blown back the other way!
Vivillon: Viv!
Larvitar: Larvitar? Larvitar!
Alain watched with concern as he encouraged his Pokemon to get up!
Alain: Larvitar, no!
Larvitar: Larvitar...
Alain: Be strong! Now please, get up!
Luckily, Larvitar heard its Trainer's voice and got up, before Alain told Larvitar to use Rock Throw again!
Larvitar: Larvitar!
Alain: Great, Larvitar! Now use Rock Throw again!
This time, Larvitar's Rock Throw lands a Direct Hit, much to Viola's shock!
Larvitar: Larv, Larv, Larvitar!
Vivillon: Illon!
Viola: (Gasps)
Alain then tells Larvitar to use Rock Throw again, but this time with the melted Ice Shards!
Alain: Way to go! Now use Rock Throw with the Melted Ice Shards!
