Back at the Santalune Gym, The Gym Battle between Ash and Viola was about to begin!
Gym Bug-Type Referee: The Gym Battle between Ash, the Challenger, and Viola, the Santalune Gym Leader, will now begin!
Bonnie: (Giggling)
Gym Bug-Type Referee: Each Side will have the use of Two Pokemon, and the Battle will be over when either Trainer's Pokemon are unable to continue! Only the Challenger may substitute Pokemon!
Ash: Hmm...
Viola brought out her Surskit, while Ash decided to use Pikachu!
Viola: Hmph! My Lens is always focused on Victory and nothing will ruin this shot! Surskit, go!
Surskit: Surskit!
Ash: Pikachu, are you ready to go?
Pikachu: Pika!
Clemont and Bonnie knew that with Pikachu, Ash had a big advantage over Surskit!
Bonnie: Ash is using Pikachu!
Clemont: That's because Pikachu's got a big advantage over Surskit, who's both a Bug and a Water Type...
Alexa frowned; while she knew that defeating her Younger Sister was not an Easy Task, she also knew that Ash was not a Trainer to underestimate, as her mind flashed back to when Viola showed her the picture that she had taken of Ash and Pikachu earlier...
Alexa(Thinking): Hmm... Don't underestimate Ash, Little Sis...
Alexa(F.B.): So that's the photo you took when they were on their way here?
Viola(F.B.): That's right! Isn't it a Great Shot?
Alexa(F.B.): Excellent! You can really pick up on the Powerful Bond Ash and Pikachu have with each other!
Helioptile(F.B.): Helioptile!
Viola(F.B.): Yeah...
Alexa(F.B.): In fact...
Viola(F.B.): Huh?
Alexa(F.B.): I wouldn't be surprised if Ash's Battling Style hasn't changed at all since my adventures with him in the Unova Region! That's the kind of Trainer that Ash is...
Helioptile(F.B.): Tile!
As Alexa leaves, Viola is confused about what her Older Sister means by that...
Viola(F.B.): The Kind of Trainer that he is? What do you mean? Huh?
As Alexa's Flashback ends, the Bug-Type Gym Referee starts the Battle!
Viola: Hmm...
Gym Bug-Type Referee: Now, Battle Begin!
Surskit started to move back and forth while Pikachu kept his Guard up! Alexa realized that both Ash and Pikachu were waiting to see Surskit's first move!
Surskit: Surskit! Sur... Sur!
Pikachu: Pi... Pi... Pika...
Alexa: They're waiting to see Surskit's first Move!
Helioptile agreed with its Trainer as both Bonnie and Dedenne cheered Ash and Pikachu on!
Helioptile: Heli!
Bonnie: Ash and Pikachu, get 'em, get 'em, get 'em!
Dedenne: Dedenne!
But Viola knew that like you couldn't take a picture without pressing the Shutter, you can't Win a Battle without Attacking, before she tells Surskit to use Sticky Web!

Luckily, Ash's Pikachu is able to Dodge them all very quickly, much to Viola's Shock! Both Bonnie and Alexa smiled, knowing that all of that watching both Alain and Mairin was paying off!
Surskit: Surskit!
Ash: Dodge it, Pikachu!
Pikachu: Pika! Pi, Pi, Pika! Pika!
Viola: Aah!
Bonnie: Wow, that's fast!
Dedenne: Dedenne!
Alexa: All that watching Viola Battle both Alain and Mairin is really paying off!
Helioptile: Heli!
Ash then told Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, which Surskit countered with Protect, before following it up with Signal Beam!
Ash: Now, Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!
Pikachu: Pi! Pika, Pika!
Viola: Surskit, Protect!
Surskit: Sur!
Viola: Signal Beam, go!
Luckily, Ash used his quick thinking again and told Pikachu to Dodge and then use Iron Tail, which scored a Direct Hit before Surskit's Signal Beam could hit Pikachu, much to Viola's shock and concern!
Surskit: Sur... Skit!
Ash: Dodge, then Iron Tail!
Pikachu: Pi! Pika! Chu! Pika!
Surskit: Sur! Surskit!
Viola: (Gasps) Surskit!
Bonnie and Alexa knew that Ash was doing great, while Clemont was amazed at Ash's quick thinking of striking back with Pikachu's Iron Tail!
Bonnie: All right! Yay!
Alexa: Pikachu really nailed it!
Helioptile: Helioptile!
Dedenne: Dedenne!
Clemont: Using Iron Tail to strike back quickly like that... What a move!
But that's when Viola told Surskit to use their Secret Weapon: Ice Beam!
Surskit: Sur...
Viola: Now, let's refocus this Battle... Time to use Ice Beam to create a beautiful Ice Battlefield!
But as Surskit warmed up, Ash quickly told Pikachu to prevent Surskit from using Ice Beam, before Pikachu jumped onto the Pond Skater Pokemon as Surskit tried to shake Pikachu off, as both their Trainers told them to use Thunderbolt or Ice Beam!
Surskit: Sur...
Ash: Don't let Surskit use Ice Beam!
Pikachu: Pikachu! Pi!
Surskit: Sur! Sur! Sur!
Ash: Stay on it and use Thunderbolt!
Viola: Shake it loose and use Ice Beam!
After a brief struggle, Surskit finally shook Pikachu off as the Ice Beams froze the Field and even the Celling as well, as Ash told Pikachu to Dodge it!
Both: (Grunting)
Pikachu: Pika!
Surskit: Surskit!
Pikachu: Pi-Pika...
Surskit: Surskit!
Pikachu: Pika! Pi-Pika... Pikachu...
Surskit: Surskit!
Pikachu: Pi?
Ash: Pikachu, Dodge it!
Pikachu tried to do so, but ended up slipping on the Icy Ground next to its Trainer as soon as the Field was Frozen along with the Celling, much to Ash's and the other's concern!
Pikachu: Pi, Pi, Pika! Pika! Pika! Pi... Pika...
Ash: Pikachu!
All Three: Huh?!
Helioptile: Heli?!
Dedenne: Ded?!
Ash frowned, this Gym Battle Challenge was not gonna be easy!
Ash: (Grunts)
