Korra groggily reached for her phone, her eyes half-closed. "Ugh, what's going on?" she mumbled, still half asleep. As she opened her eyes, she saw Opal's name flashing on the screen. She sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Opal? What's up?"

"Hey, Korra! Where are you? Did you forget about the party?" Opal's voice came through the phone, sounding concerned.

Korra's eyes widened in realization. "Shit, I forgot!" She threw off the covers and jumped out of bed. "I'm so sorry, Opal! I'll be right there."

"Wait, what's going on? You're not coming to the party?" Opal's tone turned skeptical.

"No, no, I'm coming! I just...I got distracted and fell asleep," Korra explained, scrambling to get dressed.

"Okay, but hurry up! We're already having a blast without you," Opal teased. "See you soon!"

Korra laughed and hung up the phone. She quickly threw on some clothes.

Asami groggily opened her eyes, her annoyance palpable as she saw Korra standing over her. "What's going on? Why are you waking me up?" she demanded, her voice laced with sleepiness. Korra's face softened, and she gently kissed Asami's lips, whispering "I'm sorry, baby." Asami rubbed her eyes, still disoriented. "It's 12 in the morning, Korra. What's going on?" Korra hesitated, "I have to go to a party. I promised Opal I'd be there." Asami let out a pitiful whine, clinging to Korra's arm. "No, no, no! You can't leave me!" Korra chuckled and patted Asami's hand. "I'm sorry, but I really have to go. I promised Opal." Asami's whining turned to a full-blown tantrum, but Korra just smiled and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back soon, okay?" Asami sniffled and pouted, still holding onto Korra's arm. Korra gently pulled free and whispered "I love you."

Korra and Asami shared a passionate moment, then Korra wrapped her arms around Asami in a warm hug before saying goodbye and heading to her car. As she got in, her phone suddenly buzzed with a message from Asami.

Salami😘: Baby, I miss you already.

Korra: I know, baby. I promise I'll give you a massage when I come back.

Salami😘: You better.

As Korra's eyes scanned the screen of her phone, a bright smile spread across her face, and she felt a surge of excitement. With a happy nod, she tossed the phone onto the passenger seat and started up the car, ready to hit the party. With a smooth release of the clutch, she pulled out of the driveway and merged onto the road, feeling carefree and ready to let loose with her friends.

As soon as Korra pulled up to the party, Opal was waiting for her, arms crossed and a stern expression on her face. "About time," she said, her tone accusatory. Korra gave her a playful glare, asking what was wrong. Opal's expression turned even more serious as she said, "You almost forgot about the party, aka the first party of the year." Korra apologized, but then dropped a bombshell: "Actually, Asami and I were making up and... we ended up fucking... damn... we did about 4 or 5 rounds today."

Opal's annoyance was palpable as she glared at Korra, her voice laced with disdain. "Why are you still with her? She was on a date with Mako, for crying out loud!" Korra just shrugged, her expression calm and unwavering. "I've already forgiven Asami, Opal. It's water under the bridge." Opal's eyes flashed with anger, but Korra just tugged on her arm, pulling her into the house. "Come on, Opal, let's get this party started! We've got a lot to celebrate." Opal reluctantly followed, her annoyance still simmering just below the surface. "Fine, but don't expect me to be all smiles and laughter when I'm still fuming about Asami," she muttered under her breath.

As Korra and Opal walked into the house, the loud music hit them like a wave, making them both wince. Korra rolled her eyes good-naturedly, but Opal's eyes scanned the room, finally spotting Kaito across the way. "There she is!" Opal exclaimed, nudging Korra forward.
