(THIS CHAPTER IS LONGER THAN USUAL!!!)
As they walked out of the auditorium, Korra and Opal were given their cap and gowns. Opal immediately started teasing Korra about how she was going to wear her graduation gown.
"Oh, look at you, Korra! You're going to be a real-life wizard tomorrow!" Opal said, grinning mischievously.
Korra rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Opal. I'm not going to be a wizard."
Opal chuckled. "Oh, come on! You're the Avatar! Oh... I know what it is." Opal continued laughing, "You're just trying to deny the obvious. You know you're still in love with Asami, don't you?"
Korra scoffed. "No, I'm not! I'm just... appreciative of her as a person."
Opal raised an eyebrow. "Appreciative? That's just code for 'I'm still hung up on her'!"
Korra laughed. "You're just trying to get under my skin, Opal. It's not going to work."
Opal snorted. "Oh, I'm not trying to get under your skin. I'm just stating the obvious. You still got it bad for Asami, and it's cute."
Korra shook her head. "You're not helping, Opal."
As they walked out of the school building, Korra and Opal continued to joke around and playfully bully each other. They eventually made their way to Korra's car, where they piled in and headed off.
As they drove away from the school, Opal started teasing Korra again. "So, are you going to wear your graduation gown tomorrow? Or are you going to wear a 'I'm still in love with Asami' t-shirt instead?"
Korra sighed. "Opal, stop it. You know I'm not going to wear that."
Opal grinned. "Oh, come on! It would be hilarious! You could be like the 'I'm still hung up on my ex' Sato!"
Korra shook her head. "You're just trying to get a rise out of me, Opal. It's not going to work." She repeats.
Opal chuckled. "I'm not trying to get a rise out of you, Korra. It's just the truth. You love her still, and that's ok... even though I personally despise her... you love her... but just know that I will always look out for you."
Korra smiled slightly. "Thanks, Opal. I appreciate it."
Korra couldn't help but think that maybe Opal was right. Maybe she was still a little hung up on Asami. But deep down, she knew she'd never admit it to Opal. She was happy to keep pretending that she didn't have feelings for her ex-girlfriend anymore.
Korra couldn't help but wonder what tomorrow would bring. Would she finally be able to move on from Asami? Only time would tell.

As the 4:00 am darkness enveloped the city, Korra laced up her shoes and stepped out of her home, determined to clear her mind. She had been replaying the same thoughts in her head for weeks, and she needed a break from it. She began to jog, her feet pounding the pavement as she breathed in the cool morning air. Just as she was starting to get into a rhythm, she noticed a figure walking towards her. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized Asami's distinctive stride.
Korra's instincts told her to freeze, but she didn't move. She couldn't move. She was paralyzed by the sight of her ex-girlfriend, the one she had thought she'd moved on from. Asami vanished into thin air, leaving Korra standing there, feeling like she'd been punched in the gut. She let out a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. What was she even doing here? She was just trying to get away from those thoughts, and now...now it seemed like Asami was haunting her.
"Come on, Korra," Korra said to herself, trying to shake off the lingering emotions. "You're not going to get stuck on this again. You've moved on." But the words felt hollow as she continued to jog back home. The early morning darkness seemed to close in around her as she struggled to shake off the lingering thoughts of Asami. When she finally arrived back at her house, she collapsed onto the couch, exhausted and still reeling from the unexpected encounter.
