Korra slowly opened her eyes to find the sun shining brightly in her face, casting a warm glow over the room. She groggily looked around, taking in the mess that surrounded her. The covers were off the bed, sheets were tangled, and clothes were scattered everywhere. "What the...?" she whispered to herself, her voice laced with confusion and a hint of embarrassment.
Her gaze landed on Kaito, her best friend and a strong and capable warrior, sleeping peacefully beside her. Korra's eyes widened in shock as she whispered, "Shit... what the actual...?" She shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs from her mind. She took a deep breath and slowly got out of bed, her movements stiff and uncoordinated.
She stumbled over to the bathroom, taking a pill and drinking some water before turning on the shower.
As the warm water washed over her, Korra couldn't help but think about what had happened the previous night. She had been partying with friends, celebrating a successful birthday, and things had gotten out of hand. She had no memory of making a move on Kaito, but judging by the way they were lying together, it was clear that something had happened. Korra felt a mix of emotions: embarrassment, guilt, and confusion. She got out of the shower, taking her clothes with her and quickly getting dressed.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Kaito was sitting up in bed, looking just as confused and disoriented as Korra felt. "Uh... hi," Kaito said, her voice husky from sleep. Korra sat down next to her, trying to process everything that had happened. "Hey," she replied, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside her. "So... I think we might have had a bit of a night," Kaito said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Korra nodded, feeling her cheeks flush with embarrassment. "Yeah... I think you're right."
The two friends sat in silence for a moment, trying to make sense of the situation. Finally, Korra spoke up, her voice laced with concern. "Kaito... are you okay?" Kaito looked at her, her expression serious. "I think so... I'm just a little confused about what happened." Korra nodded in understanding. "Yeah... me too."
Kaito's expression turned thoughtful as she looked at Korra. "You know, I think we might have gotten a little carried away last night," she said, her voice tinged with amusement. Korra nodded in agreement, "Definitely," she said, trying to laugh it off. "I mean, it's not every day you get drunk on your own birthday, right?" Kaito chuckled. "I guess not. But I have to admit, I'm a little surprised you didn't remember anything." Korra shook her head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I don't know what happened, to be honest. I just remember celebrating and then... this." She gestured to the tangled sheets and clothes scattered around the room.
Kaito's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Well, at least we made it to your birthday celebration," she said, trying to lighten the mood. Korra laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "Yeah, that's one way to celebrate." The two friends sat in silence for a moment, trying to process everything that had happened.
Finally, Kaito spoke up, her voice gentle. "Hey, Korra? I want to make sure you're okay with all this." Korra looked at her, feeling a surge of gratitude towards her friend. "I'm okay," she said, trying to reassure her. "Really, Kaito. We're just friends. We didn't do anything wrong." Kaito nodded, looking relieved. "Yeah, I know. It's just... I don't want you to feel like you're stuck in some awkward situation because of what happened." Korra smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "I appreciate that, Kaito. But honestly, I think we both just got caught up in the moment and forgot ourselves for a little while. That's all."
Kaito smiled back at her, looking understanding. "Yeah, I guess you're right." The two friends sat in silence for a moment longer, then Kaito spoke up again. "Hey, since we're already up and about... want to grab some breakfast and try to forget about last night?" Korra laughed, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. "Sounds like a plan to me."
Korra handed Kaito a pair of clothes, helping her cover up. "Here, put these on. I think you're going to need them," she said with a laugh. Kaito took the clothes and began to get dressed, still looking a bit disoriented.
As they reached the stairs, Korra and Kaito both looked down and gasped in unison. Kaito's clothes were ripped apart, scattered all over the floor below. They both burst out laughing, embarrassed by the sight.
"Whoa, I think we might have gotten a little carried away," Korra said, still chuckling.
Kaito shook her head, her eyes wide with embarrassment. "I guess we did."
As they continued down the stairs, Korra's gaze landed on Kaito's neck. She felt a pang of embarrassment and whispered, "Oops, that's not good."
Kaito looked at her, confused. "What's not good?"
Korra pointed at Kaito's neck, and Kaito's eyes widened in surprise. "What...? How did that happen?" she stammered.
Korra shrugged. "I have no idea. But I think we might have gotten a little more carried away than we thought."
Kaito's face turned bright red as she rushed towards the bathroom, Korra following close behind. Inside the bathroom, Kaito frantically searched for any signs of evidence. And then she saw them - several hickeys on her neck, each one bearing a different shape and size.
Kaito's face turned beet red as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Oh my god... how many hickeys did you give me?" she asked, her voice shaking with embarrassment.
Korra chuckled. "I think it's safe to say we both got carried away last night."
Kaito groaned, feeling her face grow even hotter. "This is so mortifying."
Kaito's face remained red with embarrassment, still looking at her hickeys, but she couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "Oh, Korra, you're killing me," she said, shaking her head.
Korra joined in on the laughter, rubbing her neck nervously. "I know, right? Well... Kaito, now you know what sex is like with the legendary avatar... minus the actual memory of it!'"
Kaito giggled, trying to compose herself. "Ha! Yeah, that's one way to put it."
Korra continued to tease her friend, trying to lighten the mood. "And don't even get me started on the whole 'not remembering what happened' thing. I'm pretty sure we're both just winging it now."
Kaito chuckled, feeling a bit more at ease. "Yeah, I think you're right. I mean, what's the point of trying to figure out what happened when we can't even remember?"
Korra nodded vigorously, still rubbing her neck. "Exactly! So let's just move on and pretend like this never happened. Deal?"
Kaito smiled, shaking her head. "Deal. But only if we can agree to never speak of this again."
Korra grinned mischievously. "Deal! And if anyone asks, we'll just say we got food poisoning from the birthday cake."
Kaito groaned, laughing again. "You're something else, Korra."
The two friends shared a laugh, trying to shake off the embarrassment and move forward with their day. Despite the awkwardness, they both knew that their friendship was strong enough to withstand even the most mortifying of moments.
