God, this young woman, Zach thinks to himself, is beyond gorgeous. While Zach was in his thoughts, Doctor Stevens started to speak again.Doctor Stevens: So, Fatima, this is Nurse Zach, one of the head nurses here at Emory Hospital. He is looking to become a doctor at some point, and I asked him to sit in on your appointment to get some insight from him. I hope that's alright with you, he says.
Fatima: "That's alright with me Fatima says, smiling in Zach's direction. Fatima sits on the examination table. Doctor Stevens takes her blood pressure. It looks a little higher, and it's elevated to be at 120/over 129.
Doctor Stevens: "Is there a reason right now, Fatima, that your pressure is higher than normal at the moment"?
Fatima: "Looks down and says yes. I went to see my parents over the weekend to celebrate my father's 50th Birthday, and instead of celebrating, my parents and sister found me passed out in my old bedroom." she says with tears in her eyes.
Doctor Stevens: "I'm sorry that happened. Fatima."
Fatima: "Thank you, Doctor Stevens, she says. That's not the way I wanted my parents to find out, you know. Let's just say they are not happy with me, but they are being very supportive, and my little sister feels like I betrayed her."
While Fatima is talking to Doctor Stevens, Zach cannot help but feel his heartache for this young woman. It has to be hard being diagnosed with Cancer and knowing that there is no guarantee that with all the necessary treatment, you will survive. While the two continue to speak, Zac gets a good look at the young patient. She is about 5'6 in height. She has gorgeous amber-colored eyes. Her complexion is that of warm Carmel syrupy. Zac's eyes move further downward, and she has full, firm breasts that look to be about a 32 C cup in size. She has a flat stomach and nice shapely hips, but he wouldn't give to feel them around his waist.
Zac clears his mind from the gutter and looks at Doctor Stevens and Fatima again.
Doctor Stevens: "Fatima, I brought you in today to discuss further treatment options. So, we have been through a round of chemotherapy, and it was unsuccessful. Fatima looks down for a moment with tears in her eyes. Zac sees this and walks toward her to offer a comforting hand on her shoulder. When he does this, he hears Fatima's breath hitch. Zac could tell his nearness was affecting Fatima, and if he was being honest, he liked that.
Doctor Stevens: "So Fatima, I was thinking that we do another round of Chemotherapy but to change the dosages you will do. Chemotherapy once every three weeks, along with taking a prescription drug called Lynparza. Lynparza is a prescription medicine used to treat adults who have advanced Ovarian Cancer. Since you have stage 3 Cancer, it's considered advanced, I believe, with these two treatments at the same time. We have a good chance of saving your life, Fatima.
What Doctor Stevens said to Fatima was like music to her ears. She was now thanking the heavenly father for his unfailing support and love. Fatima could have kissed Mr. Stevens. Fatima thought to herself, maybe I could beat this disease.
Doctor Stevens: "So, Fatima, I'm going to have Nurse Zac go over a few things with you if you don't mind, and I will be back in just a few minutes. Is that alright with you?
Fatima: "That's fine with me, Doctor Stevens," she says, smiling big.
Doctor Stevens steps out of the room, and there are only Zac and Fatima left. Zac gets up and sits in the tool Doctor Stevens left unoccupied.
Zac: "So, Miss Wilson, how are you feeling about everything Doctor Stevens discussed with you?"
Fatima: "I feel pretty confident in what he said. I trust Doctor Stevens. So, whatever he recommends is fine with me." she says, smiling.
Zac could not shake the feeling that he wanted to protect Fatima. He couldn't believe he had these feelings towards someone he just met, especially soon after ending a relationship. Zac couldn't put his finger on it yet, but there was something truly special about Fatima, and he wanted to find out just exactly what that was.
While Zac is lost in his thoughts... he hears the sweet voice saying Zac, Zac, Zac,.....he quickly looks up at Fatima and says. I'm sorry. What were you asking me, Ms. Wilson?
Fatima: "I asked you what you think about Mr. Stevens's recommendation."
Zac: "What I believe is an excellent recommendation. He has the right idea of trying again the second round of Chemotherapy with a higher enough dosage than having you try the Lynparza. I have studied the drug extensively, and the findings rate of the drug at about 90%. I would tell you to do some research yourself, and we will discuss it further.
Fatima thought to herself this man is truly fine as fuck. God. He was a beautiful man, not to mention he was a black man educated and continuing his education to become a physician. Fatima thought it was very impressive and admirable. Zac and Fatima hear a knock on the door. They both look up to see Doctor Stevens has returned.
Doctor Stevens: "I'm sorry about that, Fatima. I got caught on a conference call. My apologies."
Fatima:" Don't worry about it, Doctor Stevens. Nurse Zac was here to discuss the treatment plan with me further and to answer any and every question I had. "she says with a twinkle in her amber-colored eyes.
Doctor Stevens: "Okay. So, since Nurse Zac, I would like to see you back here a week from today so we can start your treatment.
Fatima: "Okay, that's fine. Is there any way I should prepare for the upcoming treatment?
Doctor Stevens: "Just don't eat Monday morning, and drink plenty of water until Monday morning."
Fatima: "Okay, understood." Dr. Stevens. Thank you again for all your help. You don't know what this means to me. You're giving me the gift of life, and there is no way I will ever be able to repay you for your kindness." She says.
Doctor Stevens: There is no to thank me. It's my pleasure, sweetheart." He says with a smile on his face.
Fatima: "Okay, I will see you a week from today." She says, walking towards the door.
Zac: "Gets up and says. Miss Wilson, let me walk you towards the front. She looks back over her shoulder in Zac's direction, smiling, saying sure.
