"Gently Cas" a voice whispered, and fingers tapped my hand ever so softly causing me to open my eyes.

My eyebrows furrowed, at Cas's sideways face, realising we were still at the townhouse.

"I'm so sorry"

I lifted myself off of Cassian's leg which I had been using as a pillow with red cheeks. He shook his head with a wink.

Azriel rose an eyebrow with a smile, hazel eyes studying me as Cas beamed in front of him.

"ready to go home?"

"wait- how long have you been back?" I asked as my eyes looked him over. He had eaten, the empty plate on the side was evidence enough and it was a welcomed relief to be able to feel him again.

"a few hours"

"Cassian" my head turned to the Illyrian accusingly and he held up his hands in surrender, wings flaring behind him.

"you said like ten minutes" he defended "that was like ten minutes"

"hours ago" I growled and his face paled slightly.

Luckily, he was saved by Cas crawling into my lap, tucking himself against my chest and I shifted slightly so I was more comfortable.

Ease flowed through me, and I sighed against his white curls, looking up at Az gratefully.

We said our goodbye's to the others before winnowing back to mine.

Az took the dosing Cas from me, pressing his lips to my forehead before heading through the door to put the little one to bed.

I sighed, rubbing my chest before beginning to strip out of my clothes, the shadow that had stayed with me now letting my hair tumble down my shoulders and winding around my wrist.

I pulled on a lounge bra along with a pair of shorts and had just finished washing my face before I heard Az close the door connecting our room to Cas's.

"did he go down okay?"

"he was already tired"

Az began stripping off his clothes, stretching out his wings with a groan before collapsing on the bed face first. I snorted quietly at the sight of him, hands coming to rest on my hips whilst his shadows settled around the room.

"long day?"

"mmm" he grumbled into the pillows and I climbed over his legs to straddle his back, his head lifting as his wings fluttered to the sides of me. "what are you-"

"-shh" I soothed, rubbing firm circles into his back. He practically melted beneath me, wings drooping over the sides of the bed as he sighed, eyes closing.

I kept going until I heard him begin to snore softly, collecting our clothes from the floor and putting them in the laundry basket. The fae lights dimmed as I approached the bed.

Now I just needed to find somewhere to sleep.

Shadows crawled up the side of the bed, disappearing underneath his wing before it lifted, along with his arm and I pressed a hand over my mouth to hide my giggles as I slid underneath.

"thank you" I whispered and they stroked my cheek before swirling away.
