"Al, Al, Al, Al, Al" Cas chanted as I lead him through Velaris, but he stayed by my side dutifully.

"yes my love?"

"Can the baby sleep in my room?"

"I think the baby might be a bit loud dear"

"I don't mind"

I chuckled at his enthusiasm, caressing my bump lovingly. We weren't far away from the big day now, and I was beginning to feel...uncomfortable. It felt like constant pressure sat across my midsection, lungs constricted and needing to pee all the time. it was a little maddening to say the least.

I groaned at the smell of warm food, Cas peering up at me.

"Are you hungry again Alley?"

"I think the Baby is hungry"

He frowned, his little hands holding my tummy as we stopped in the market.

"Azzie said to save room for dinner Baby." He scolded my stomach lightly and I had to bite back my giggles as I peered down at him.

"good job Kid, but we're going to have to be sneaky, because baby really wants some of whatever's cooking"

"Azzie!" Cas bounced into the kitchen where my lover was cooking, shadows following him back to their master as I set the bag of goods on the table, pressing a hand to my back as I watched them.

"hello trouble" my mate grinned, pulling the boy into his arms, "how was the market?"

"The Baby wanted food"

Azriel frowned dramatically making Cas laugh.

"I thought we agreed you'd wait until you got home to eat?" He turned to me, and I smiled sheepishly.

"sorry love, I still have room I promise"

"I'm surprised you don't pop at this rate" he joked, and my eyes narrowed, moving past him.

"If I didn't need the toilet right now, I'd be giving you a serious talking to"

"Oh dear little warrior, sounds like I'm in trouble"

"are you sure you can't convince Rhys to wait a little longer" I asked as I ran my fingers along Azriel's leathers.

"He promised it would be quick. The last mission before the baby arrives. No longer than a day" he took my hand, pressing kisses to each finger. "Cassian will stay with you until tomorrow night, when I get back"

"great so I have mother hen with me" I joked lightly.

"it's going to be okay." He assured, sensing my worry "the baby isn't coming tomorrow. Are you little one?" he crouched before me, pushing up the fabric of my dress until my stomach was bare to him. "you're going to stay in there all tucked up and cosy until daddy get's home aren't you?"

He pressed a kiss to the skin, smoothing his fingers over our bump until his eyes rose to mine.

"it's not going to happen tomorrow" he promised, and I sighed.

"Mother help you if it does and you aren't here"

"Uncle Cass!" Cas screamed as the winged male entered through the front door, just managing to catch the boy as he leapt into his arms.

"Hey little warrior!" he grinned down at him, "ready for our sleepover?"
