I was lost in the thoughts of yesterday's incident, the night with him under the moonlight. God, every moment felt like a beautiful dream. The small flowers he gave me when he was braiding my hair... I could still feel his presence lingering around me. How his little touches made my heart beat faster everytime.
And about the gift he gave me last night, it was the same jhumkas he had complimented me on. I was overwhelmed by the note he had left:
"It's looks beautiful on you like it's made for you only."
God, this boy always makes me feel special. My thoughts were interrupted by Rani's voice. "Meera, hua ki nahi tera?"she asked impatiently.
"Yes, yes, I'm done," I replied, braiding my hair. I didn't want to undo the braid he had made, but I had to; otherwise, it would look like a bird's nest.
We were going trekking today. We had finished our breakfast and were now heading towards a small mountain. We would stay there until evening to watch the sunset and then return. We had packed backpacks with essential things.
As we walked, Rani broke the silence. "I'm so excited for the trek! It's been ages since we've done something like this."
Preeti chimed in, "I know, right? I just hope it's not too exhausting. But the sunset will make it worth it."
I smiled, "Yeah, and it's a good way to bond with everyone. Plus, the view from the top will be amazing."
Rani grinned, "I bet you'll get some beautiful photos up there, Meera. Your photography skills are amazing."
"Thanks, Rani," I said, feeling a bit shy. "I just hope I don't miss any good shots."
Preeti teased, "Maybe you can get some good shots of Lakhsya too, you know, for memories."
I blushed and nudged her, "Oh, stop it. It's not like that."
Rani laughed, "Sure, Meera. We'll believe that when we see it."
We all laughed together, the anticipation of the trek and the promise of a beautiful sunset filling us with excitement.
We came out of our tents and saw that everyone else was already present, waiting for our teachers to signal us to go. As we didn't know much about the places here, two people from the camping authority were joining us for safety. My eyes wandered around, searching for him, and then my eyes met his.
He was already looking at me. I hurriedly looked around, trying to suppress the different feelings his gaze stirred in me. I hid my smile by biting my lip, but my cheeks betrayed me. I glanced around, hoping Preeti and Rani didn't notice and luckily they were too engrossed in their conversation to notice, or they'd tease me to death.
I turned towards him again, and he was still looking at me, a soft smile playing on his lips. I returned the smile and quickly turned the other way, unable to handle his gaze any longer. Soon, our teachers told us to get into our groups, and we started walking.
