KASHISH

He was late. I was at Porch, taking fresh air, and waiting for him to show up. I called him but he didn't pick it up, must be driving.

Two hours was a long time, especially when you took the empty highway into account, but Ranvijay would never arrive that late. And he always answered my calls. Where was he?

I'd taken 10 rounds of Porch while rubbing my arms in tension. My fear had risen with each passing minute.

I'd called his headquarters, and his assistant told me he'd left two hours ago, so he should be here by now. Has something happened to him? Ranvijay was invincible and could deal with the local goons if they tried to rob him.

Anxiety spread in my stomach and gnawed at my insides. Come on Ran, show up. My phone rang.

I ran towards the swing chair, and my chest deflated when I realized it wasn't Ranvijay. But stunned when I saw Kainaat's name on screen. She was still in Bangalore. I thought she was gone. "Hey, Kainaat! What's up?"

She took a long pause before saying, "It's Ranvijay... There's been an accident" Exhaustion weighed down her words. I lost the ability to hearing as her words still gnawed at my mind.

"W-what do you mean? What happened to him?" Panic exploded into my veins, and I'd to hold on to the edge of the swing chair for support as Kainaat explained the situation. Tears stung in my eyes. No. it can't happen.

"You need to get to the hospital" My phone slipped from my hand, and I collapsed to the floor. No, no. Ranvijay can't be hurt. I started biting my nails. Old habit. My painful sobs were echoing through the dark night.

I cried hysterically, my mind filled with images of Ranvijay lying hurt and broken. My world shattered with the news but I gathered my wits and headed to the hospital. Kainaat had sent one of her bodyguards to take me to the hospital.

He was the only living family I had left, and if I lost him...No, no, nothing will happen like that.

I couldn't stop crying as I drove to the hospital. Thousands of thoughts are running through my mind, giving me anxiety and unbearable pain in my chest that could probably kill me. I yelled at Kainaat's private bodyguard for not driving fast completely ignoring the fact, he was already using urgent pace.

When I finally arrived at the hospital, I stepped out, leaving the door open. Before I got inside, I spotted crush of reporters outside the main entrance but Jim escorted me safely inside.

"Kai...w-where is he?" I cried when I followed Kainaat's gaze at the emergency ward. My hair was disheveled, no slippers, as I was too shocked and distraught after hearing the news of Ranvijay's accident.

"I-I want to see him" I hiccupped and was about to open the ward door, but stopped midway as Kainaat held me back. "No Kashish"

"No, he needs me. I have to go him" I cried, suffering from unbearable pain, and only Ranvijay could handle me.

"Sweetheart, doctor checking on him" She wiped my tears. "He will be fine, right?" I sobbed, my heart ached. She swept me into a tight hug. "Just calm down. He will be fine" she said softly, stroking my hair. I cried loudly, not giving a damn that I would wake up all the patients.

"It's all my fault, he got hurt because of me" I shattered on the marble floor, cursing myself. "I hurt him" My breath got stuck in my throat. "I hurt my Ranvijay"

"Is he alive?"

"I warned you, Ocean. You were getting too close to him. Now you know what happens when you don't listen to me"
