xxxix. Ultimate Showdown

Arriving in Siberia we land the plane as the doors open as I head to the weapons locker opening it up and grabbing a few more arrows before making my way towards them "you remember that time we had to ride back from Rockaway beach in the back of that freezer truck?" Steve asked out loud "was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?" Bucky asked him as he nodded "you blew three bucks trying to win that stuffed bear for a redhead." Steve said as I chuckled at the interaction.

"What was her name again?" Bucky asked him "Dolores. You called her Dot." Steve replied "she's gotta be like a hundred years old right now." Bucky said chuckling "so are we, pal." Steve said chuckling "I'm standing here with a bunch of old men." I replied giggling as I feel a hand start to ruffle my hair making our way inside the base armed and ready for anything that could possibly come our way as we make our way up a set of stairs stopping when we hear a loud bang coming from behind us making us turn around weapons drawn as I look up to see my dad pulling apart the doors before walking towards us.

"You seem a little defensive." Tony said as he walked towards us "it's been a long day." Steve said as he walked toward him "at ease, soldiers. I'm not currently after you." My dad said as he looked up at us "then why are you here?" Steve asked him "could be your story's not so crazy." Tony replied "maybe." Steve said "Ross has no idea I'm here. I'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise, I gotta arrest myself." My dad said "well, that sounds like a lot of paperwork." Steve replied as my dad scoffed at him.

"Hey, sergeant slaughter, your killing me. There's a truce here. You can drop...." My dad said as he looked at me and Bucky once more before Steve nodded at us to lower our weapons. Making our way deeper inside the facility we come upon the doctor inside what looks to be some kind of chamber as I look around noticing all the other soldiers were dead with bullet holes in their heads as I gasp at the sight around me.

"If it makes you feel any better they died in there sleep." Zemo said as he looked at us before clicking some buttons behind the chamber he was in when all of a sudden a video pops up on the computer screen in front of us "I know that road. What is this!?" Tony shouted as all of us watched attentively noticing a familiar person walking towards the car as I gasp out loud "oh, my god." I whispered "did you know?" Tony asked in a hushed whisper as he glanced at Steve "no." Steve mumbled "don't bullshit me, Rogers!" Tony yelled making me flinch slightly.

"Yes, but I wasn't certain." Steve replied as he looked up at him with sympathy until my dad swung his hand back knocking Steve down to the ground as I gasped looking up and seeing Bucky try and throwa punch at him until Tony caught his fist midway as I charged at him getting knocked down to the ground looking up seeing my dad coming towards me about to punch me but I grab his hand squeezing harshly breaking the blaster on his left hand as I look up seeing Bucky and Steve separated by debris "get out of here and take her with you!" Steve shouted "no! Uncle Steve!" I yelled before being pulled away.

A little while later the three of us are trapped in a separate area as I look up to see my dad fighting with Bucky and Steve as I kneel on the ground in pain from the few hits I've taken "daddy! Stop, please!" I shouted as he continuously punched Bucky in the face making him stop and look up at me with a hint of sadness in his eyes "he's my friend, dad." I whispered limping towards him before gently picking him up as the three of us make our way out of the abandoned HYDRA base.
