The next morning arrives as I wake up feeling the morning sun shining brightly through my window as I get up out of bed and head towards the shower shortly after I finish showering I head back into my bedroom to get dressed. Once I finish getting dressed I head into the kitchen for some breakfast "mmm, something smells good." I said taking a seat at the bar with a smile on my face "morning pumpkin." Uncle Steve said as he placed a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me.
"Looks great uncle Steve." I said taking a bite of the delicious food in front of me "thank you." He said before kissing the top of my head as I giggled at him "where's my dad?" I asked him "your dad is doing some charity event with your mom, so that means you and me are gonna spend the whole day together." He replied with a smile on his face as I chuckled at him. After we finished eating breakfast we head out to the courtyard to take a walk around the property "how are you adjusting to your dad being an Avenger and well to us being the Avengers?" He asked me.
"It's an adjustment but, other than that it's fucking awesome." I replied as he chuckled at me "I can imagine. Race you to the house." He said lightly tapping my shoulder "hey, no fair you cheated!" I shouted as I raced after him desperately trying to catch up to him. Finally catching up to him I jump onto his back as he laughs at me "that...was not...a fair...race." I said in between gasps as I tried to catch my breath "oh, it so was." He replied while chuckling at me "no it was not. You're super human. While I'm just a normal human being." I said giggling as he ruffled my hair.
"Okay, you got me on that one, pumpkin." He chuckled while we walked back inside the house "so, how did you get your powers?" I asked him as he plopped my down onto the sofa "uh, well...I was tested on when I was a teenager in the army." He replied "wait, wait, wait you were a test subject while you were in the army?" I asked him "yep, sure was." He nodded "how old were you?" I asked him with curiosity laced in my voice "20." He replied while looking over at me "wow, that's not what I was expecting." I muttered lowly with a hint of sadness laced in my voice.
