--Lisa--

Jungkook didn't say anything.

Anyway, I felt a sense of accomplishment that I could surprise him. I moved the small stool under my buttocks closer to him. It was very noisy around us. I was about to speak when he said, "Have you seen those birds too?"

Oh, why does your brain work so fast?

I nodded and said, "Yes, I was eating at a family restaurant with many children. I saw many birds hovering outside the restaurant, hundreds of them. If the appearance of birds is some kind of omen, can we assume that the person is also there, selecting his next target?"

Jungkook: "Yeah."

I said, "Can we notify the police and take precautions in advance?"

He still said: "Yeah." Although it was just a simple word, his eyes were dark and bright. Although he was sitting on the same mottled little bench as me, he sat very handsomely and listened very attentively.

At this time, a waiter passed by and Jungkook raised his hand: "Pay the bill."

I took out my wallet and said, "Let me do it. I ate so much too, and...it's me who made you pay for it."

Jungkook said softly: "Two different things."

The waiter smiled, looked at the two of us, and reached out to take Jungkook's money. I rushed to hand over the money, but before I could get to the waiter, a strong arm was already in front of me. I tried to push him away, but he didn't move at all, instead he held me firmly on the chair. He also grabbed one of my hands.

"Hey, why should I ask you to pay?" I said.

As he handed the money to the waiter, he whispered, "Try to see if you can get through. If you can, I'll let you pay."

The warm skin on his arms slightly burned my neck and cheeks. I could feel my heart beating restlessly, but I still had no time to argue about paying the bill.

"That's unreasonable." I whispered.

He smiled and said nothing.

Not daring to stay like this for too long, I leaned back, out of his grasp, and said calmly, "Okay, I'll do it next time."

He also said "hmm" in a calm manner.

We both stood up and walked out. As my heartbeat returned to normal, my brain seemed to be back online. I suddenly remembered something and said, "Oh no! My good friend Jihyo and her nephew were also in the restaurant that day. They might also be in danger."

Jungkook looked at me and asked, "How old is the child?"

I answered, "8 years old, but he's quite skinny, so some people would believe him if he said he was 6 or 7."

Jungkook's eyes became a little deeper, and he said: "It's not just possible, but very likely that they are the ones who were chosen as the target."

I was surprised: "Why?"

Jungkook said: "I saw birds outside the auto repair shop before, about ten of them. Why did they appear there? According to our inference, they would not appear somewhere for no reason. Then there is a possibility - they recognized me. And I have only seen them on the boat. Maybe you find it incredible, but they... really give me that feeling."

I was stunned. Jungkook looked serious, so I knew he wasn't joking. This was really his strong and clear feeling. Although it was incredible, I was willing to believe it.

I said, "You mean, there's a good chance they recognized me, too?"

A hint of admiration flashed across his eyes as he said, "When the child was snatched that night, there were hundreds of birds. They appeared in the restaurant, most likely for hunting. If they recognized you, they would probably notice the child sitting at the same table with you first."

My heart suddenly became confused. I quickened my pace towards the car and said, "I have to notify Jihyo and the police immediately."

I just dug my keys out of my bag and he said, "Let me do it."

I said, "Why?"

He looked at me and said, "I've seen you drive."

The implication is...

I suddenly felt my face burning, and said, "Okay, you drive it and see if you can drive steadily." Then I threw the key to him.
