Days turned into weeks, then into months. Workload started piling up, and lessons became shittier. I hated it all. But amidst this, me and Pat have been quite close now- visiting each other's homes once in a while. I turned sixteen on September 29th, her birthday the day after. My friends, well, never quite changed. They've always got my back through thick and thin, even when it meant professing my undying love for Pat. Professing my undying love for Pat. It's a large thing to swallow; the guts ran away from my body when I had the urge to tell her. Why can't I? It's January. Five months keeping this whole feeling away from her. And yet I can't seem to let it all out.

"Wanna watch a TXT music video, or another Skibidi Toilet episode?"
We were in my room, half-cuddling on my bed. She smoothed my hair with one hand, and held a TV remote on the other. "I don't know, but I really wanna see my husband who literally has the same surname as I do," I said. "Let's watch the Sukidakara music video, the one covered by Beomgyu." She shoved me as I giggled nonstop.
"Boy, he's so dreamy."
"Shut the fuck up, he's mine!"
"I thought you were loyal to Yeonjun? Two-timer!"
We laughed again, and stopped after a minute. There goes her gaze, the one I never got tired of looking at even after five months. She smiled at me. I loved every bit of her- her brown hair, her gentle touch, her everlasting smile, and oh, those eyes. Her eyes that seemed so special to me, a surreal sight.
"Can I do something?"
I hope she doesn't do anything bad, like walk away or something. I repeatedly thought of this. Boy, I hope she doesn't slap me on the face. How foolish I am to think of this. Of course she wouldn't do that..
She held my shoulder with one hand and stroked my cheek on the other. I felt her warmth as she got closer to me. Closer and closer until our lips pressed together. Holy shit. How in heaven's name did she have the nerve to do that?
"I'm sorry. I- I-" I felt a bit tense. My heartbeat went quicker and quicker.
She cut me off. "No need to be."
We stared at each other for a moment, not knowing what we have just done. We opened our mouths to speak. "Can we be-"
We said it together. She liked me? I still can't believe this is true. I covered my mouth in shock and disbelief. She held my cheeks once more, with both hands this time. My hands clasped each other, resting behind her neck. "I love you," she said under her breath. "I love you too," I whispered back. Our lips met once more, soft and tender like baked bread.
"Heh. I guess I could call you mine now..!" I chuckled.
She held one finger up. "Erm, actually... you are!"
I mocked being surprised in the worst way possible. "What the sigma?!"
We cackled once again, expressing the neverending joy we've shared with each other since day one.
Out of all girls I've met and loved, she stands out. She's the definition of perfect. The sun to my moon. The alpha to my sigma. I swear to God that I would get a memory chip in my brain just to cherish these memories forever- this and this and this. I'd fight in a war just for her.
She laid her hands on a small and dusty book. The Iliad: translated and reinterpreted by Akira Choi, it said. My mother. "Hey.. I've read this thing." I leaned forward to have a closer look.
"Don't you think we may be Achilles and Patroclus in another universe?" she added.
"Maybe. Just had a gender switch and some Asian fusion on my end, I guess."
"Hope I don't die, though.."
"Shut up!" I flipped her off and laughed.
I immediately grabbed my phone while she was distracted. I went to DM's with Kio as 1.) she knows her way with love and 2.) Pat's in the friend group GC.
