Chapter 147 : Free as a Bird

Devasena didn't know why the marriage is so urged. Turns out Satanika wants to be in Devapath just in case Maya faces any problem. She will give birth any week now.

Devasena already has two elder sister in laws. Among them one is future Samragni. One is managing Samragni Draupadi's entire Treasury. Devasena finally realizes the problem.

She never had any interest about extravagant things. But seeing all these gifts, attires and ornaments it's clear how different their life style has been. Will she be worthy of being daughter in law of Pandavas family? Will she be able to fulfill her responsibilities as the daughter in law of Samragni?

"Rajkumari," a maid enters.

"What?"

"Maharaj is talking with your father in law and husband about...."

Pandavas, Krishna and their sons are joking and generally speaking with Pitamah Bhism about their life. Pitamah Bhism is so surprised knowing the reason and everything that happened in Patal Lok. 

Maharaj Ayushman comes to greet them.

Satanika stands up showing him proper respect and allowing him to sit beside his father.

"Samrat, Yuvraj Nakula, Putra, I wanted to discuss something..."

Maharaj Ayushman was a little confused. He didn't know who to talk. Samrat Yudhisthira is the head of the family and Satanika is his heir as much as Prativindhya. But Nakula is his father. And only a parent makes the final decision about their children. So he decides to approach this matter with everyone. 

Maharaj Ayushman frowns a little seeing Rajkumari Suthanu sitting beside her Pitamah comically explaining something. And Pitamah Bhism is listening so carefully as if someone is instructing him of his foremost duty.

"Of course, Maharaj," Nakula says.

"As you have seen. I have no sons. There's no one to succeed me after I take my last breath," Maharaja Ayushman looks at them, "Devasena is my oldest child. She will be married to the household of Samragni Draupadi. Hence, I am thinking of making her son succeed me. Of course only if Putra Satanika who is her husband is okay with it."

Before Yudhisthira and Nakula could say anything, Krishna stops them. It's a very common matter. Their other sons will also inherit their mother's kingdom.But the process is brutal. Most of the time the supposed heir is taken away from his mother just after birth. Arjuna didn't want to bring Uloppi and Chitrangada with him. Hence they could stay with their sons. But most of the time this isn't the case. If any mother protests, they are belittled and are called selfish.

"I...," Satanika is interrupted by a maid coming in.

"What's the urgency that you entered in such manner?" Maharaj Ayushman yells angrily.

"Ma... Maharaj... Rajkumari wishes to talk with Kumar Satanika..."

Maharaj Ayushman looks at the Pandavas apologetically, "Forgive me. She is still young. Isn't aware of the rules..."

"Rajkumari wishes to talk behind the curtain. She said they won't meet," the maid says again.

This time Satanika realizes the urgency, "Maharaj, please come with me. If she wishes to have a audience with me, I must oblige."

Only Satanika and Maharaj Ayushman leaves.

Devasena's chamber is separated by a thick curtains. Only her blurry imagine could be seen and the sound of her jewelries could be heard.

"Yuvraj Satanika, Pranipath," Devasena senses them first.

"Pranipath Rajkumari," Satanika greets as well.
