-- A Few Days Later --

I sat the utensils down, perfectly positioning them next to the two plates before hearing the faint knocking on the hotel's door.

I immediately rushed over, unlocking it to be met with the person i was expecting. "Hi! I appreciate you knocked quietly, like i asked over the call." I commented with a smile.

"Setting up a discreet surprise?" The delivery man questioned whilst handing the bouquet of roses over to me. "You got it." I responded and we said our goodbyes as i walked back to the dining table.

I sat the gifts all in one place and finally walked into the bedroom, seeing as Maddy was fast asleep just as she was when i had woken up a good hour ago.

I carefully climbed on the bed, laying down just next to her as my hand went in to caress her. "Sweetheart." I brushed the word against her lips, immediately watching her eyes open ever so slightly.

"Hm?" Maddy's hum came through and i pressed a quick and soft kiss down. "Happy birthday, baby." I said, getting her eyes to open fully.

"It's already my birthday?!"

"God, Maddy, yes! Have these days blent together that much for you?" I released a smile, gradually getting right on top of her.

"Not blent, i just haven't been keeping track of them. But that's the best thing as i just live in the moment." I heard her explain, bringing a brighter smile to my face.

"I've got a lot of things planned for today though." I proudly confessed, slipping my hands under her shirt. "Really? You're overwhelming yourself a lot though. We could have stayed in Spain and celebrate there but no, had to book a flight to the next country, organize everything. Are you not exhausted, baby?"

"Shh," i leaned down, keeping my smile up, "i love to spoil you. The city in Spain didn't have a lot to offer anyways. Not the things i wanted you to experience so here, oh god, you're gonna be thrilled."

"I literally love you, Lauren." Her arms wrapped around me, pressing our lips together within the second.

I watched as Maddy stopped just on the edge of the cliff, having me do the same next to her but i didn't even pan my eyes over the beautiful sunset, rather focused just on her, how amazed and happy she seemed.

"I got good news to tell you." I broke the moment apart and said. "More? Baby, you've been surprising me nonstop today. I don't think i'll be able to bear with anything else." Her attention dropped on me with a smile.

"These news are for the both of us to be more exact." I continued and lead her slightly away from the cliff just in case. "Go on. Now you've gotten me intrigued." Her arms laid on my shoulders, patiently waiting.

"The wedding date will be on the 14th." I calmly admitted, receiving a few seconds of silence at first before her smile grew as wide as possible.

"14th?! We're getting married a month from now?! Babe! No! Why so early?! I- what if- listen! I need a wedding dress! I still haven't even picked it out! And the guest list, all the- where are we even setting the ceremony at?!"

"God, i'm so in love with you." I forced her into a hug, literally feeling my eyes even water up the more we stayed like this.

Soon enough, the girl pulled away though, brushing her thumbs across my cheeks to wipe the few tears. "Thank you for this day. I couldn't have expected it to be as good as it was."

"You deserved it. But how about we head back? Have to drop off this rental too before-" My words were cut short as Maddy grabbed my hand leading us on the path that lead down the mountain.

"Baby, what are you doing?" I exclaimed but she kept her intention clear, dragging me with her on the sand and closer to the beach.

"Clothes off." I heard her say as we stopped, watching her pull her own hoodie off before moving over to mine.

"Swimming? On an evening? When it's fall?"

"Stop talking and come with me." My girl was obviously discarding my words, seeing her slowly make the way to the shore.

I reacted quick by now, getting down to my lingerie only as i followed after her. "Fuck, it's cold!" I yelled out but continued to push myself forward.

"Don't be a baby." Maddy had turned around, grabbing my wrists and before i could do anything, she yanked us both under the water.

"Oh my god! I hate you!" I surfaced up within that, easing out my breaths. "You love me. Stop." Her arms gracefully wrapped around me with a proud smile however as we just kept the eye contact, her head tilted down just after.

"Why do you keep doing that?"

"Doing what?" Maddy asked yet parted from me, going deeper in. "So many times i've seen you turn away after you blush. I hate it." I didn't hesitate to get closer, grabbing her back against me.

"It's childish to blush. Like we've been together for more than a year and you still hold such an effect on me. I hate when you see me do it. It's embarrassing."

"That'll be so weird." I commented, tucking her soaked strands of hair behind her ear. "What's gonna be weird?" Maddy questioned, confused.

"I still have a few things i want to add to my wedding vows and it will be weird for me to describe one of my favorite things about you like that."

"Babe." She spoke out, unable to tell what she was actually feeling right now. "I'm gonna drown you. I swear." Her hands gripped my shoulders, clearly being serious about it.

"That'll be a beautiful death then but you know, we're basically married already so if i'm going down, you're coming with me." My arms locked around her, being fully ready.

"Ahh! Stop!" She pressed her forehead against mine, releasing the burst of excitement. "See. I like when you just let it happen. When you don't look away." I commented, caressing my hands right over her red toned cheeks.

"I swear, i literally want you to kiss me until the sun goes down."

"What's stopping us? It's gonna be gone in about 10 minutes but i hope that'll still be a long enough of a kiss." I said yet pulled her right in, fulfilling her want.
