67 - painfully beautiful

My eyes moved away from the guest that was telling their funny story and i looked right next to me, seeing as Maddy has been so quiet, keeping her head down and on her plate of food.

"What's wrong?" I leaned closer, asking loud enough for only the both of us to hear over all the conversations around the table.

"Nothing." She shoot her head up, holding a visibly nervous smile. "I can see something is. Are you not happy?" I grabbed her hand under the table.

"Lauren." Her head tilted with pure disappointment. "I'm just overwhelmed. Not sad. I can't even express my joy, babe. I'm feeling so many things at once that i don't know what to do." I heard her explain.

"Wanna go? The guests can stay but we can go back to the cabin. Have to pack for the Maldives anyways."

"Are you sure? I honestly would love to just be alone with you."

"Yes, Maddy. We can leave. This is just a traditional meal after the wedding, besides we ate already, good enough reason to finally go." I replied with a smile and stood up right after.

"Oh, my mom was pissed!" I immediately exclaimed after we stepped foot inside. "I said it wasn't a good idea to go. We were the reason the meal table was even set."

"Maddy, it was our wedding. We planned it, we organized it so we had every right to do what we want. Now come." I grabbed her hand, leading her further inside and over to our bedroom.

"Lauren." The girl stopped me from zipping open her dress, turning to face me. "We don't want it to get dirty though. That's all i wanted, for you to change." I innocently explained.

"If you say so." She responded, turning back around and letting me open it. As it dropped off her shoulders, my hands slipped inside, wrapping around her bare waist.

"You're such a liar. I can't believe it." Her head leaned back, resting on my shoulder so i used the opportunity to press a kiss on her lips.

"You looked absolutely stunning today." I brushed the words against her ear. "Did i?" She smiled back however i saw as she granted me more access so i immediately trailed multiple pecks over her neck.

"Like the ring?" I grabbed her hand, letting her showcase the ring in front of us. "I already said i loved it after walking down the aisle. Babe, you're literally wasting money because of me for no reason though! I would have been fine with a simple one but no, you just-"

"Shh." I laid my hand over her mouth, blocking her complains within that. "Stop downgrading yourself. Till this day you've deserved everything i've got you. So nothing will make me regret it or even stop from spoiling you."

"We have to pack." She replied, forcing herself away and allowing the dress to come off completely now. "We still have the whole evening so we can take a moment to ourselves." I tried to pull her back in but she stepped away, bringing the dress in the closet.

"Alright. I guess we'll pack." I spoke out, grabbing mine and her suitcase to set on the bed. "What do we even need? I think it's unnecessary to take thick clothes, they barely got cold temperatures at any time of the year." I explained.

However as soon as i turned around to see if she was even listening, i watched her step out the closet.  My eyes panned down her half naked body, skin only covered with black lingerie that she did have on just before.

"I thought you were in there to change." I said as Maddy slowly walked over. "No point. We're about to go to bed soon anyways." She said, practically forcing me aside to grab her own suitcase.

"So you're just gonna walk around the house like this for the rest of the evening?"

"Am i not allowed to? Is there something wrong with that?" Her arms crossed, turning her body to face mine as i used the opportunity to check her out once again.

"No. You look good." I held back my amusement and within that she walked back to the closet, taking more clothes to bring out.

As soon as she sat everything on the bed, i went in to grab her hand, pulling her against me with a smile. "You look extra good and i hate what you're doing right now." I slowly lead us to the wall, letting her back press on it.

"I'm not doing anything." Maddy innocently responded, laying her arms on my shoulders with an obviously guilty smile. "Can the packing wait? Just for a few hours." I pulled myself closer whilst asking.

"For a few hours? It's gonna be midnight by then."

"If so? We don't even need to take stuff with us. I'll just buy everything you need when we're there." I said, pressing a kiss just in the crook of her neck.

"Honestly, i'll be taking your wallet on this trip otherwise you're so unwise on what to spend your millions on."

"Whatever you want. You can have it. For all i care, you can take it as yours too." I answered and trailed the pecks from her neck and up to her lips.

"You're so perfect." I heard her say in a low tone. "No, Maddy. Our story is. Never have i experienced something so painfully beautiful."

"Well then, i think we've finally survived through that pain and gotten to the beautiful ending." She smiled back.

However i rested my forehead on hers, taking a moment of silence to gather the happiness that i could also see across her eyes.

"Exactly. The long awaited and perfect ending has finally reached us." I whispered back and locked our lips together, wanting this moment to last for an eternity.
