In a farm deep in the forest, an old woman sat on her wheelchair, observing the place, Zofia Zikar
Many years ago, her husband died in a fire accident, leaving her alone to raise their only daughter, Nora
When the girl grew up and got married, she left, abandoning Zofia for a more luxurious life with her husband
" What did I do wrong...? " Zofia lamented, gripping the cane in her hands " she was a good child ... so, what happened? "
That was one of the things Zofia hated the most about being a mother
Whenever she saw her upbringing going well, a sudden movement would come and destroy everything
" If one doesn't know how to raise properly " she said, looking up at the sky " then they shouldn't in the first place "
" Mrs. Zikar! a message from Caleb! " Zofia turned to the source of the voice, it was Forrest, the too-curious-for-his-own-good mailboy
Zofia moved her wheelchair to go towards the mailbox, while Forrest hurried to prevent his curiosity from taking over
She opened the mailbox and took out the letter " What could be on the young butcher's mind? " she thought as she started to read
Her eyes widened for a moment, and she threw the letter on the ground, quickly moving her wheelchair while grabbing the gun that was on the floor
On the other side, Willa and Caleb were standing in front of the exit gate, the gate of the town of Hovistar
" I guess this is your only way to get to that country " Willa said " .. although there is still a problem..."
He asked in surprise " What is it? well, I know walking on foot will be tough, considering it's an unknown town to anyone– "
" No! " she interrupted, looking down with concern " you're right, but that's not it– "
" Caleb! " They looked towards the source of the voice and got scared, especially Caleb
Zofia was running towards them in her wheelchair, holding the gun in her other hand, with anger on her face
" N-N-Nana! please listen! it's not what you think! " he said nervously, trying to calm her down, obviously ..
" Boy! " Zofia stood up from her wheelchair and approached them " are you in your right mind? who's the more unheaded that decides to go to an unknown place like that?! you don't know what awaits you there! "
" That's because of Carlos! " he shouted back " today he sent me a letter asking to meet him there! it's true that I haven't heard from him in a long time, but what now?! I prefer to go to him, even if it disappoints me, rather than stay confused about my life forever! "
Zofia went silent and looked down, " Oma ... " Willa approached her and placed her hand on the old woman's shoulder
Caleb sighed sadly, felt like he said something bad " Nana... " he said calmly " I'm sorry if I'm being reckless ... but I have to go "
" ....... " she handed him the gun " ... you know what to rely on "
" I'll come back safe, I promise " he spoke gently, out of his intentional reassurance, yet, the old lady's face never softened
" Oma...? " Willa asked confused, " is there something else? "
" Caleb... " Zofia looked at the young man, her expression hardened, " no matter what you do, don't listen to him ... don't trust Adam "
