It was late at night, 11 pm to be exact, and somehow Trevor wasn't asleep. It was either the cold summer night air, or just the swirling thoughts combined with endless instagram scrolling that was keeping him awake. Regardless, he was bored. And without anyone to talk to, all he could do is fall asleep.
Until,
He saw a shadow approaching the tent. It unzipped it and stepped inside without saying a word.
"Uh, hello?" Trevor asked, shinning his phone's flashlight on the mysterious person.
It, or rather she, was revealed to be Emily. "Yo Trev, you wanna hit up the gas station with me? I need some munchies right now, and there ain't shit in the production tent." her speech was kind of slurred, so Trevor knew something was off.
Then he noticed, her eyes were a light red.
"Are you okay? You eyes are..."
"I'm high, Trevor." Emily said, cutting Trevor off. Now he understood.
"Oh... well, sure? But how will we even get to the gas station? Kristal said her car is off-limits." He asked.
Emily plopped down next to Trevor on his bed. "Y'all still got that orange big... wheel thing?"
"... You mean the fourwheeler?" Trevor asked, gaining a nod from Emily. "Yeah, to my knowledge we never got rid of it. It's still in the shed I think."
"Bet." Emily stood up, and unzipped the tent. "Let's go brochacho. You can drive there right? I'm trippin' balls right now."
Trevor sighed. "I guess."
~~~~~~~~~~
They both had arrived. After a while of Trevor helping Emily navigate to the shed, they managed to find Derek's, now old, fourwheeler. The key was still in it from when they were arrested.
They both pulled it out, and drove on their way after filling it with gasoline. Fortunately, Trevor was a good driver, and Emily was good at holding on.
"Aight, get whatever you want. I can pay." Emily said, hobbling off of the ATV into the station. She had grabbed a bunch of different chips and drinks, while Trevor had only grabbed some sunflower seeds, pizza flavored pringles, and a blue raspberry slush aka the best gas station foods imaginable and if you disagree then shut up you're factually incorrect and probably are too broke to even walk to the gas station wait am i gonna get cancelled for that no plz i'm sorry i wanna see more trevek on twitter nooooo :(
Emily paid for it to an also very high cashier who had green hair. Trevor thought he looked familiar, but couldn't put his finger on who it was. He knew that was gonna bug him all night.
They both left the gas station to go back to camp, but Emily had other plans.
"Yo Trev, you wanna go to this one really cool hangout spot? I heard some guys near the drink stuffs talking about it." Emily asked, leaning against the fourwheeler only for her elbow to slip and her almost fall on her face if it wasn't for Trevor, who caught her.
"Careful Emily, and don't you think we should go back to camp?" Trevor asked back. He really didn't want Kristal catching them staying up too late. She doesn't want the staff dead tired, especially Trevor since he's the one testing the challenges. Therefore, she makes everyone stay in their tents at a certain time, like a curfew.
"It'll be fineeeee." Emily responded, opening some of her chips and snacking on them. "Pleaseeee? I bought you chips and shit dude! You gotta do this for me."
Trevor sighed. "Okay." Emily almost jumped in excitement, but she knew if she did, she'd probably fall over. So she just fist pumped instead.
Trevor, with the help of Emily's confusing but somehow usable instructions, made it to the hangout spot. It was a flat partly-grassy hill, with a really nice view of the stars and the forest below. Emily sat down and patted a spot right beside her, signalling for Trevor to sit by her. Trevor did as she wanted.
Trevor noticed Emily gazing up at the stars, mouth wide open in shock, and decided to do the same. They were super pretty. he knew a few constellations, and could see all of them. The moon was also full, and the sky was clear, so there was plenty of natural light shinning down on the two.
"You ever wonder how many... like... shit what are they- Stars! Yeah, you ever wonder how many stars there are?" Emily says, clearly having trouble forming a simple sentence. Trevor didn't mind, he was focused on the beautiful sky.
"According to this one thing I saw, there's 200 billion trillion stars in the universe." Trevor responded. "Whatever that means."
"Woah..." Emily gasped. "I didn't even know that was a number." She takes a slow crunchy bite of her chip in astonishment, which makes Trevor giggle a little.
"I'm kinda getting tired, Trev" Emily says after a few more minutes of stargazing. "Wanna go home before Krissy has an aneurysm?"
"Yeah, sure. I'm getting tired too." Trevor agreed, standing up then lending a hand to Emily. She took it, and they got on the fourwheeler and made their way back to camp.
~~~~~~~
"Thanks for taking me out, Trev. You're super cool for that." Emily says, getting ready to head back to her tent.
"No problem" Trevor says. "I was bored anyways. This was fun!"
"We should do it again sometime. I still got more weed to last a while if you ever wanna smoke with me." Emily offers
"No thanks, I wanna keep my lungs healthy. I'll give you a ride though!" Trevor replied.
They both said goodnight, and went back to their respective tents.
And Trevor was finally able to fall asleep...
after 30 more minutes.
