"Hey, you're the mutt from 1-A, right?" someone called out.
Huh?
Turning around I saw the purple haired guy from the hallway, the hell was his deal this time?
Oddly though Ojiro and someone else was with him seemingly on his team, something wasn't right - everyone was going to stick to their classmates for this event, right?
He seemed annoyed that I hadn't responded "What, are you too entitled to talk to someone who isn't in the hero course?" He said, obviously trying to egg me on for some reason.
Something about this was off, my gut told me to not respond, and his constant questioning had only made me want to trust that feeling further. Another odd detail was Ojiro's eyes. They had seemed almost glossed over and his pupil was completely white, it was the same with the other guy as well. And lastly, why weren't they talking?
Did this guy have some kind of control over them? Nothing about what's happening here makes sense which meant he had to have his quirk in effect, did it have something to do with talking?
Looking around people had already formed large groups and were picking through people that or, they already had their teams. That meant I'd likely be force grouped into this guy's team. That meant I needed to know his quirk and what was happening with the other two in the group.
I walked towards Ojiro and reached my hand out, panic flared in the purple haired guy's eyes. He slapped my hand down; he was obviously on edge now and I could tell he was thinking of something to say. If outside contact worried him then maybe...
I unsheathed my claws and grabbed my left wrist with my right hand and dug one of my claws into it just enough to cause pain. I grit my teeth for a second, "I know they're under your control." I said and suddenly for a brief second a haze had passed over my mind, but it no longer lingered.
He looked shocked, and a little scared "How... did you figure it out?"
"Their eyes" I stated as I felt haze wash over me and disappear once more "Additionally they're from different classes. One would've surely spoken up by now. Your approach to get me to speak early on would've worked if I was a chatty person." I glared at him, "Your quirk. What is it, some kind of mind control that involves speaking right? If you want to advance to the next round, I advise not using it on me. I'll trust you if you tell me what it is as having both my arms available would be beneficial."
He hesitated for a second, obviously he was forming something in his mind and was contemplating my offer. "My quirk is called Brainwashing. Whenever someone responds to me, I can choose to take control of them, where they will obey whatever, I command. It's pretty evil, I know." He raised an arm and put it on the back of his neck as he looked off to the side.
He was obviously in deep thought, so I decided to follow my own word and trust him. I removed my claw from my wrist as the pain had stopped ebbing away in my arm. "That's a powerful quirk, not an evil one." I stated. He looked up at me in shock, had he assumed I wouldn't respond?
He left his mouth hanging open for a moment before speaking "You trusted me?! And not evil, how could you say that about a quirk that controls other people?" He had seemed almost angry as he asked me this. I thought for a moment "A quirk is only evil or villainous because of how the user uses it and how it affects people. If you have bad intensions then it becomes a bad quirk, but if you use it as a way to calm someone down or stop a villain it's not villainous." I thought for a moment and looked at my own hand. That quirk of mine..... purely made to kill people in the most of evil ways. It has no right to ever be called anything other than villainous, it's only been used to cause pain.
