Hugging Adhiraj seemed to calm Tranika in a way she couldn't quite explain; he gave her a sense of peace she found undeniable. As she entered the house, the familiar warmth of home surrounded her. She went straight to her room to change out of her saree, feeling the day's weight slowly lift off her shoulders.

After slipping into something more comfortable, she headed downstairs. The aroma of spices and the sound of laughter greeted her. Out on the balcony, Vriti sat with Niharika, both lost in conversation.

"Vriti Di will stay with us," Niharika announced excitedly, her eyes sparkling.

"Oh, so important people are staying with us today," Tranika teased, trying to lighten the mood.

Vriti was on a call, but when she saw Tranika, she put her phone down with a smile. Niharika, ever the bundle of energy, darted to the kitchen to make pasta. Tranika marveled at how much Niharika could eat.

Vriti beckoned her over, and as Tranika sat beside her, she felt a wave of relief. These four people-Atharva Bhai, Vriti, Niharika, and Adhiraj-brought her peace and happiness. With them, her worries faded into the background.

She laid her head on Vriti's lap, finding comfort in her presence.

"Tell me, Tranika, why is your mood upset?" Vriti asked, her voice full of concern.

They all knew about Tranika's strained relationship with her family.

"Mummy called me today," Tranika began, her voice trembling slightly.

"And?" Vriti prompted, gently stroking Tranika's hair.

"Papa got a marriage proposal for me from a businessman. They want to sell me to a man for a business project. I hate him, Di," Tranika said, her frustration bubbling over.

"What did your mother say about it?" Vriti asked, her voice steady.

"When I refused, she called me a characterless girl who sleeps with men for success. She said that's why I don't want to get married to a single man," Tranika explained, feeling the sting of her mother's harsh words.

Vriti kissed her forehead. "Don't take them seriously. Call them and give me the phone," she said, her anger barely contained.

"It's fine, Di. Bachpan se yhi sunti aa rhi hu mai, ab toh fark bhi nahi padta (I've been hearing this since childhood. It doesn't affect me anymore)," Tranika said, her voice filled with resignation.

Niti arrived, and both women fell silent. They didn't want Niti to hear any of their conversation since she was very sensitive about these things.

After a little chit-chat, they all retired to their rooms. Tranika's phone rang, and her heartbeat quickened as she saw the caller ID. It was Mahima, the girl she would never want to meet again. Declining the call, she started checking her messages.
