The group had spent the next hours in their hiding spot, down in the underground's. It looked like the other tributes weren't planning on attacking soon since the arena had fallen into silence.Up until two hours later when there was a loud thud coming from the main hall, with a glass shattering sound following afterwards, shooting the red haired girl up from her place, only for her to notice that it was far away.
Invidia had even caught herself a few times, wondering on how Lamina would be doing right now.
Was he wondering the same thing?
Surely he was - they were friends for nearly 10 years after all, she thought.
Eventually the group had made up to switch up on the watch out for the group as the rest was sleeping, starting with Tanner who sat down closer to the exit, making sure to be aware of everything, leaving the red head to sleep on her own, clenching into her Trident as the duo relied on each others shoulders, bringing some comfort to their heads.
Their naps didn't take long tho as she had been woken up by Mizzen, shaking her and the boy awake. As there was a slight bit of consciousness visible from the duo, the red head has finally made her way over towards them.
"Ay, Lumberjack!", she called out. "take your pretty friend and watch over the place as we do a circle around the arena!"
The duo sat up from their sleeping positions as they both rubbed their eyes, grabbing their weapons to the side as the group was now making their way through the small exit.
"can't believe i'm saying it but this might've been the best nap i have taken since we've got here", Treech spoke up as she was still trying to shake herself awake.
Her head turned towards the boy as a slight huff escaped her mouth. "you can't stay serious can you?", she called out with a small smile.
The boy was known to her from his unstoppable teasing jokes but she couldn't possibly imagine how a human could be this calm meanwhile being in a deadly arena, being destined to die in a matter of the next few days.
Yet his words made it look like a normal night, taking her back to the days they'd just lay underneath the sky, discussing about their districts and interests, both hoping to return to their families once all of this is over.
But after she's seen the bloodbath for the weapons earlier, her hope was slowly sinking and so was his - yet he refused to give in because he was the last one to keep the girls hopes alive.
"how's your arm?", she suddenly asked.
He took off his sleeve, inspecting the wrapped up arm. "it's okay", he replied. "luckily the cut wasn't deep enough", he put the sleeve back on. "how is your leg doing?"
"fine", she shrugged.
Just when the boy was about to speak up, they were startled by a silhouette suddenly appearing through the entrance, revealing the short boy from district 4.
"Coral told to go watch the corridors", he spoke up as he eyed the two, who were now pulling themselves up to their feet.
"what about you?", the girl questioned as she grabbed into her spear.
