Girsha's POV
We all went into the city together with Hilda, taking Leora from me at every chance she got, I couldn't seem to hide my claim from Fleafiara. "Girsha, those two don't know it, but I know you have put your sent on Leora, and I have a feeling you intend to mark her. Am I wrong?" Leora warned me that you couldn't hide anything from Fleafiara, so I told her. "Yes, but I made sure Leora was 100% happy with settling for an Orc marriage and life, it feels like she was meant to be an Orc some days, when we visited my Clan she adapted to it quicker than I thought." Fleafiara smiled and took my hand. "Well, that is her nature. She will be happy in your Clan. Don't worry at all about that. Focus on the courting process."
Fleafiara winked at me, and I smiled, happy to know Leora would be happy with me, I looked at the book stall for a present and found a beautiful note pad, it will be perfect for her note. I paid for it, and Fleafiara hid it for me. We kept walking when I heard with my Orc hearing what Leora and her mother were talking about.
"You went to her Clan? What are her family like?
"They are very sweet and welcoming.
"How many siblings does she have?"
"She has six brothers, she are all older."
"I can't imagine a girl raised as an orc with 6 older brothers to be very gentle. Is that why you have bruises? Is she rough with you!"
"No, mother, that's my own fault, I hit my arm on my desk."
"Well, is it true they live in caves?"
"What, no?! Where did you hear that?"
"Is Girsha educated?"
"Yes, mother, you watched her read a recipe last night.
"Has she ever lost her temper?"
"No, mother Girsha knows how to calm herself down."
"How serious is this relationship?"Leora sighed and spotted me before rushing over. "Ah Girsha, love, can we get some silk for tomorrow night?" She asked, refering to the full moon, we decided to celebrate by ourselves until we go back home. We kept our clothes and Leora used it as an excuse to fuck me for a whole day and eat Orc food. It would also be the only day we drink. "Won't your parents still be here?" I asked nervously. Just then, skme silk magically appeard in Mt hands. I looked up, and Fleafiara was making a shooshing motion with her finger. "She already knows and promised to take my parents home tonight. She said she would come up with an excuse." Leora said before kissing my lips, I smirked and hid the silk in my jacket.
Once we got back, I sat Leora down on the armchair and handed her the book. "Oh Girsha! It's beautiful." She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I picked her up before spinning her around. He mother looked at us like we were crazy. "Here, this is for you." Leora said before handing me a new chopping board. I smiled and kissed her lips. "You ate incredible." If her parents weren't here, I would have taken her on the armchair.
"I read that gift giving is a courting behaviour." Lee said as he sat in the other armchair. "You two go steady." He laughed, which made me look to Leora, we had agreed to tell them before they leave tonight. "Father, mother, there is something we want to tell you." Leora said as she took my hand. "We are courting. We are planning to marry after my studies, and then we will be moving to Girsha's Clan." Lee smiled and clapped. "That is wonderful dear!" He kissed Leora's head.
Fleafiara cheered, but Hilda just stood quiet. "Leora, can I talk to you alone, please?" She said quickly. Leora shook her head and broke away from me. "If you need to say something, you can say it in front of Girsha." She said before taking my hand.
Hilda sighed and said. "Leora, my child, you've only known her for a few months. Are you really going to throw away your wealth, land, and education for an orc?"
Leora shook her head. "Mother, I have never cared about all of that, I love to travel and learn magic. That's all I've ever cared about." Her mother looked shocked. "I did not sacrifice having my only ever child become a Mage for her to throw it away on a simple life!" She shouted, I could she the hate in the eyes she had for anyone lesser than them. "Mother, I won't lose my title, and I will always be a Mage, but I love Girsha and her people. I want to be with her. The whole point of Mages was that humans to see they could learn and understand other cultures." Leora tried to hold her mother, but she pushed her off. "No, daughter of mine will marry a common orc." I was ready to speak, but Fleafiara held me back. "Then I have no mother."
Leora stepped back towards me, I put one hand on her shoulder and squeezed her other hand. "Hilda, I think you should leave, Leora is right. Humans like you are the reason we created Mages. I am sorry to see you can not love your child for the life she chooses." Fleafiara said as she stood by my side. "And I, for one, think Girsha is a great match for Leora." She continued.
"I agree. Hilda, our child's happiness is more important than your beliefs about other species." Her father Lee said and stood by us.
Hilda left in a rage. "I will follow her, I am truly happy for you both, please send me an invite to the wedding." Lee said before kissing Leora's head again. "Of course, Lee." I said, and he was off. Fleafiara looked to us and gave a half smile. Leora shook her head and fell to the floor. I held her close and rocked her as she started to cry.
"I don't understand why she hates other creatures so much." Leora said between sobs. "I told Hilda that she wasn't strong enough to have a Mage, but she forced you to be one anyway. You have become an incredible woman. Your mother will see that in time." Fleafiara said as she handed me a hanky. "Another 30 years won't change that woman." Leora spat, so I pulled her close to my chest and started to sing. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine... you make me happy... when sky's... are grey." Leora relaxed into my chest and soon stopped crying.
"I will take them home tonight. She can fight me all she wants, I've known her for long enough to see when she will fight me, but I will fight harder for you two, so will Lee. We will be at your wedding if you will have us." I nodded to Fleafiara before she flitted off to go find Leora's parents. "Sing more, please." Leora whispered, making me smile.
I took her into the bedroom and wrapped her in the blankets. "You'll never know, dear... how much I love you... please don't take... my sunshine away..."
