"I can't do it anymore," You told her with a frown, "I lost it."

The two of you had stayed up all night talking and kissing, if it was up to you, it'd be more the latter, but it was still amazing either way. It was about two in the morning when she asked about your dad and you just started spilling everything like she had with you soon after about her youth, losing her parents, and finally Pietro. It frustrated you to no end because people like her were suffering, losing their loved ones, and if you had been there, you could've saved all three of them from those bullets. You kept that to yourself as you listened, just holding her close for comfort, and when the topic drifted off, you decided to be even more vulnerable with her like she had been with you.

"What do you mean?" She scrunched her eyebrows, sitting across from you now on the couch as you both faced each other criss crossed, "You lost...your gifts? How?"

"When I was with Tony, they just stopped and the world went...black," You looked down at your hands and she didn't hesitate to take them in hers, making you glance up at her again as you continued, "I was so scared and it didn't work, time didn't stop, and Tony had to take on the complicated mission without backup, but I couldn't even-"

"Hey, hey," She cooed when you wiped at the tears you wish didn't fall, "You're okay, you're safe."

"I think..." You took a deep breath, and she squeezed your hand softly, letting you know she was there, but it just made you realize that this was way too heavy for this new thing between you both, so you changed your mind last second, "I think Fury's agents will be here early for the gold bars if you wanna get some sleep."

"If I was still just your friend, would you tell me what you actually wanted to say?" She asked, a pleading in her voice for you not to shut down, practically reading your mind.

"Yes." You sighed out truthfully after a moment of consideration and she smiled sadly at you.

"Then why does it have to change?"

"Because you're not my friend anymore, you're my – uh..." You grimaced, cutting yourself off with a blush, and she chuckled.

"Girlfriend?" She mused lightly and when you nodded shyly, she hummed, "I like the sound of that."

"So, as my girlfriend, Max," She went to object, but you stopped her with a raised finger, "Yes, the nickname stays, get used to it," You smirked and she laughed, nodding reluctantly in agreement with a smile she was trying to contain, "I would like to take you out on a proper date tomorrow."

You were both silently agreeing to also drop the stuff about your failing powers for now because you both needed a break from the heavy and there was always time for that later.

"I'd love that." She leaned forward and you met her for a kiss that she immediately deepened, making you smile.

"Ice Skating?" You suggested and her eyes lit up brighter than the Christmas tree in the corner that was doing an amazing job of highlighting everything that was her in the warm lights.

"I used to skate on a frozen pond back home this time of year," She bit her lip, looking at you with so much happiness filling her face that it warmed your heart, "But I haven't done it since I was little, so I'm not sure I remember how."

"Good thing I'm an excellent teacher." You told her confidently and she narrowed her eyes at you with a smile.

"You sure about that?"

"Fine, but worse comes to worse we sit on the side lines watching the ones who can skate while we freeze our asses off drinking hot chocolate."

"No, babe, I think worse comes to worse and we end up in the hospi – why're you looking at me like that?"

"You called me babe." You wiggled your eyebrows, trying not to laugh, and she rolled her eyes before chuckling.

"You're such a dweeb."

"Nobody says that anymore," You scolded teasingly, remembering how she made fun of you for using the word 'dapper' earlier, "You should be ashamed of yourself, it's downright embarrassing, Miss Maximoff."

She started laughing, getting on her knees to tackle you in a kiss, and you fell back giggling as she hovered over you, her hair cascading down over your sides. Her eyes sparkled in the dim lighting and your hands floated down to her hips as hers kept her up, framing the sides of your head. In a second, she smashed her lips against yours and put a little more weight on you, subtly snuggling between your legs that wrapped around her waist when you moved your hands to cup her face.

"God, you're beautiful." She whispered breathlessly when she forced herself to pull back for air.

"You've got me, I'm your girlfriend," You smirked teasingly, "I wouldn't say no to the compliments, but you don't gotta lay it on so thi-"

She cut you off with another kiss, smiling as she muffled her own laugh, and the second you pushed further to deepen it, it turned into a quiet moan.

The two of you decided to cuddle on the couch soon after that, slowly drifting off as she traced random shapes and words across your arm, lightly kissing your collarbone as you hummed sleepily.

You didn't notice in the moment, but every second spent with the witch wasn't only amazing in the obvious ways, it was also slowly healing you physically too. The red mark on your arm was diminishing with every hour passed and neither of you realized her power was making you stronger just by being in its vicinity.

There was a soft knock at your door around seven in the morning and it didn't wake Wanda up, so you carefully slipped out of her hold to answer it.

"Y/n L/-?"

"Shh," You cut the woman off, whispering, "She's sleeping," You gestured to the living room, but they couldn't see who you were talking about, "SHIELD, right?" When she nodded, you mirrored it, helping her with the heavy bars as quietly as you could, "Are you...Maria Hill?"

You knew someone mentioned Fury's righthand and you had a feeling this was the same woman because of the authority she carried herself with, not to mention how she silently order three other agents to assist with the load.

"Yes, it's nice to meet you." She smiled formally, shaking your hand.

"You too," You told her genuinely, not whispering anymore since you followed her outside, and you were happy you remembered your coat since it was a cold morning, but she didn't seem fazed by it, "Sorry about the shushing, me and my girlfriend fell asleep on the couch late last night."

You couldn't help but to smile to yourself, saying that so casually as if it was just a normal, everyday thing to call Wanda Maximoff your girlfriend.

Because you're dating the Scarlett Witch.

You.

It's really unbelievable.

Before she could respond, an agent with the last box appeared at your side.

"Miss Maximoff is awake and she's looking for Miss L/n." He informed her and she raised her eyebrows towards you with an amused smile.

"Is she?" She mused smugly and you blushed darkly, knowing this would get back to pretty much everyone now, "I guess we should head out then."

He nodded, heading towards one of the two cars without even acknowledging you, but Maria was doing that enough for the both of them and you were feeling itching under her gaze.

"I missed what he said," You lied, pretty believably if she hadn't known you were standing closer to the agent than she had been, "Ah, well, probably just something about the weather...or baseball."

"Baseball...sure." She smirked, giving you a nod with a quick wink before she turned to leave.

"Happy Holidays, agent Hill!" You called, rushing back inside, and you thought you heard her laugh right before you closed the door.
