"You know, in my vision, I saw you-"
"Give up the throne and let the people have a new leader?" He guessed and you quirked an eyebrow his way as the two of you made your way down in the back of a hay truck, "Yeah, I plan to do that soon enough."
You smiled to yourself with a nod, thinking that was probably a good idea since he would be around with the avengers more now, and looking after his brother sounded like it might be a handful.
The two of you made it into the heart of the new Asgard and you saw many people bustling around, trying to get the place up to par, in working order. It was nice to get some sun, see the world hasn't stopped turning just because of what you've gone through, and see the hardworking people with smiles on their faces.
The fresh air paired with people who didn't know you was the perfect recipe for what you needed, and you'd have to remember to thank Wanda later. Because even though you missed her, the two of you hadn't spent so much time apart since meeting, you liked the idea of being around others who wouldn't look at you with an air of pity or gloom. They'd treat you equally and that was a dose of what you needed right now.
"Lady Y/n," A man greeted you after nodding and smiling to Thor, offering his hand to you, "The one I could never quite see."
"You must be Heimdall," You put together, going to shake his hand, but he kissed the back of yours instead, "It's so nice to meet you."
"We can't thank you enough for all you've done," He told you firmly, "You've saved countless lives and devastation."
You never really thought about it like that.
Sure, there were the obvious deaths that would've occurred surrounding the avengers, but the pure agony that would come from people when their loved ones vanished without warning or explanation was something you didn't give much consideration.
Slowly, you were starting to realize that if you had died for your father instead of the other way around, maybe you wouldn't be here to stop something like that from happening again or even be able to help another group of people, but it still saddens you to no end. You weren't given that choice and you still lost someone you didn't get to patch up a relationship with before he had been forced to leave this earth.
After Heimdall excused himself to help out some others who called for him, Thor led you into his house and introduced you to a couple of his friends.
"Hey, I'm Korg," One greeted with a wave and you hesitantly waved back, not exactly used to speaking to creatures beyond the human variety, "I'm made of rocks, but don't let that alarm you, unless you're made of-"
"And that's Meek." Thor cut him off, pointing to the smaller one next to Korg.
"I had a solid rock, paper, scissors joke, no pun intended," Korg slightly whined, but then grumbled, "It's been ruined now."
"His hands are made of knives and he....uh..." Thor continued until the knife guy oozed something out of himself.
"Are those..." You tried to hide your look of disturbance, but it was hard, "Eggs or like...something else?"
"Looks like eggs to me." Korg shrugged.
You followed the remotes in their hands over to the TV they were facing and smiled when you saw a game you were all too familiar with, but you smirked, asking anyway,
"What're you guys playing?"
And that's the last thing you knew before six hours had flown by, the three of you crushing each other in constant battles.
Thor had left and the sun had set, but none of you paid it any mind, just eating chips, drinking soda, and laughing in between rounds.
"Who are you?" Someone asked from the door around midnight and the three of your attentions snapped to the raven-haired man standing there with his arms crossed, narrowing his eyes on you.
"Who are you?" You asked back, trying to impersonate him, and Korg chuckled, nudging you.
"Loki." He growled, trying to appear intimidating, but you just nodded with a smile, looking back to the screen as it loaded another round.
"Thor's brother." Korg mumbled and you made an inaudible, 'ah', which apparently frustrated the trickster.
"I know what you can do," He huffed, "And yet, you choose to waste your time on mindless-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" You cut in defensively, putting your hand up towards him, "Mindless? This takes extreme skill and finesse, something you clearly know nothing about snake boy, now, if you don't mind," You grabbed your remote again as the game started up, "The adults are busy, why don't you go fake your death or something?"
He didn't say anything, just walked over to stand nearby, and even though Korg was speechless, scared shitless, Meek whined, making you shake your head in annoyance.
"You really don't know who you're talking to." He told you lowly, the threat in his words present.
