-Slick Rick, Children's Story

Brady and her friends, Veronica, Miles, Rhonda, and Percy were all walking home from school.

They all went to Havenscourt Elementary school and ended up in the same fifth grade class. They formed a little friend group and have been friends ever since.

One thing they all had in common was they all came from single-parent or abusive households.

Veronica never went by her actual name, she preferred Ronnie. She was Brady's right-hand, go-to bestie and lived with her single mom older, and younger sister. Her mother had a boyfriend that had a fetish for young girls, he often went after her younger sister. Ronnie always tried to protect her little sister, so she would let him abuse her just to save her sister.

Miles was one of the few white kids at Havenscourt, which was mainly an all-black and partially Hispanic school was branded "White-boy" for taking a liking to or always hanging with the black kids. Miles moved from Berkeley to Oakland with his white trash mother who sold pussy to keep the lights on. He also had the biggest crush on Rhonda, but she never gave him the time of day.

Percy was born to drug addicted parents who chose drugs over him. He lived with his older Brother who sells drugs with Slick and Brandt. He was considered their little nigga and Brandt looked out since his daughter was the same age as Percy.

Rhonda wore the same clothes to school every day, and was made fun of by all the kids. Except her small crew of friends. Her mom worked two jobs as a cashier during the day and a Janitor during the night. She made below minimum wage but was doing anything possible for her kids.

As they all walked home from school, they complained about their school.

Like most kids who went to Havenscourt, they often took a backroad to walk home, since it was quicker.

"Man, lunch today was nasty as fuck." Percy complained, brushing his hair with a wave brush.

"What was for lunch?" Brady asked since she brought lunch every day.

"It was Mac and cheese. I turned my plate upside down and it didn't even fall off."

They all laughed at Percy, but he stopped dead in his tracks looking off into the distance.
