Warnings: abusive family relationships (very little physical injury but does happen), bullying, foul language, mentions lack of eating.

Summary : based on the classic fairy tale of Cinderella; a posh prince and a poor boy, an odd match that just might be perfect for one another.

Sorry for the break btw!!!

"Felix! Get in here this instant, I wanted this floor spotless not filthy!"

The mother was furious, she walked into the main hall dressed in a green gown with hair tied in a neat bun, a look of pure irritation adorned her face.

Despite slaving away all morning to scrub the tiled floors clean the mother had noticed a bit of dirt near the door, and that was simply unacceptable.

Felix was quick to rush in at the call of his name, wearing only a tattered sweater and shorts with a broom in hand, his face covered in ash and dirt.

The boy almost flinched as his 'mother' turned his way, standing tall on her heels in a demeaning stance of authority.

She simply narrowed her eyes and pointed to the bit of dirt on the floor with her claw like nails.

"You've failed at a simple task, I expect the floors to be polished at every corner. Your sisters and I will be out for the rest of the afternoon, for punishment you will redo the floors of every room, pull the weeds from the garden, clean your sisters rooms, hang the laundry, and tidy the kitchen with a meal awaiting our arrival. You'll be given dinner if you're chores are finished"

With an evil glint in her eye the lady smirked and turned away to the door, her heels clicking with every step.

He could hear his 'sisters' running in from the other room, meeting their mother by the door in a similar pretentious manner.

Just before the trio could leave he heard a snicker of laughter, his eldest 'sister' called out just before the door could shut behind.

"We left a little something for you Felix, have fun"

And with that the door slammed shut, leaving him alone in the now empty house, only a glimpse of the car leaving through the window.

He longed to go with them, he hadn't been to the town square in months, kept trapped away in this prison of a house to clean up after his so called family.

As he got to work tidying the house Felix couldn't help but daydream about a different life, the life he would have had his parents were still with him.

As a young boy Felix grew to adore his parents, his mother was always there to kiss his cheek and make him smile, his father was usually off to work which left him to take after his mothers interests.

Felix learned to cook and bake with his mom, always eager to assist in the kitchen any way he could, he helped his mother clean and spent time in the garden or learning how to sew.

Parents would turn a hateful glare at him in town, the only boy in the village with a more 'feminine persona' as they called it.
