____

Hyunjin woke up to a pounding in his skull.

With a pained groan he pushed himself up from his bed with additional effort, his hand then found its way to his forehead as it throbbed painfully.

With a migraine this bad most people would stay in bed just a few minutes longer, or maybe take some pills or medicine to lesson the pain.

Hyunjin however....... Didn't.

He went on with his morning like usually, occasionally massaging his temple as he brewed up a coffee and gathered his things for that day.

The head pain wasn't anything new, he had been feeling unwell for the past few days, starting with stomach cramps and minor throat pain, proceeding into nausea and headaches, as well as the usual coughing and slight body fatigue.

At first hyunjin had taken the first two days off when he first felt unwell, he even spoke to Minho and Changbin about his symptoms.

He tried the medication Minho provided, took some rest to help, but the sickness didn't seem to end.

After two long days spent taking care of himself hyunjin couldn't take it anymore, he felt like he was falling behind on his work and felt as if he was being a nuisance to the group by slacking off so much.

And against better judgment hyunjin had simply lied his way through it, he stopped taking medication from Minho and insisted to Changbin he was feeling better.

Although his body clearly protested against jumping back into his usual routine hyunjin simply ignored his own body and worked anyways.

He continued going to the studio to practice his dancing for hours everyday, like he usually did. Instead of resting in his break time he started heading to the gym again and catching up on his work schedule afterwords.

His body only grew worse.

After days of working against his own body's needs hyunjin had been so distracted with the work to the point where he failed to notice the damage he was causing.

And only now could he feel what he had done.

The coffee machine beeped to signal his beverage was ready, however hyunjin wasn't.

The loud beeping felt like nails being hammered into the side of his skull, his hands now gripping the kitchen counter until his knuckles turned white.

The pain was intense, his eyes closed shut tightly as if it would help somehow, his head lolled forward and his body slumped on itself.

As the pain reduced again after what felt like the longest minutes of his life hyunjin could finally loosen his hold on the counter and straighten up again, the pain in his head turned back into a consistent dull throb.

Just what happened to him?

He decided to shake it off assuming it was a lack of sleep...... now that he thought about it he could vaguely remember pulling quite the all nighter working in the studio, only crashing in his bed for a good hour before his alarm clocked in.
