"I need this song finished by the end of the week"

"We scheduled a live stream meet and greet tomorrow"

"Have this part of the song redone, it wasn't approved by the company"

"You have an opportunity to make an appearance at this event next week, we told them you'd be there"

"Where's this song I asked for? It was supposed to be ready days ago?!"

"Why haven't you started working on the next album? It's up to you to get that ready!"

Chan felt his head throb painfully against his hand, rubbing at the temples in circular motions as if that can take away the stress within.

This month had been a long one, at least for him.

Hours spent at his desk, alone, working.

His phone continued to buzz away at his desk, facedown as he wasn't quite ready to face the messages this second.

It seemed like the work never ended, he would make respectable progress on an assignment only to find another pile of work awaiting him afterwards.

He simply couldn't seem to catch a break.

And it took a toll on his mental and physical well being.

With a groan chan lifted his sore eyes to meet the screen in front of him, a bright contrast to the otherwise dark studio.

The words on the screen looked nothing more than a blur to him, a mess of words and symbols that needed to be adjusted.

He didn't bother checking the time in the top right corner of the screen, too far gone to even think about comprehending how long he'd been working for.

Despite a long yawn and heavy lidded eyes chan continued to work away, as if he was used to working under these conditions, which wasn't exactly something to brag about.

The phone next to his laptop continued to buzz against the desk, a painful reminder of the unanswered calls and emails awaiting his eyes.

After a long gruelling process chan decided to call it quit for the night.

Part of him urged the work to continue, to make a last effort to complete the composition he was currently working on. The other part of him begged for even a minute of sleep, a chance to shut his eyes for longer than a second.

With one final glance at his screen chan clicked the save option on his work before closing everything up, finally able to lean back in his office chair and stretch out his arms.

He didn't quite realize how long he stayed like that, just relaxed and drained in the office chair, sat still and comfortably in the dark room.

Somehow he made it back to the apartment, quiet and dark like he'd expected at this hour.

Normally he would wash up before bed, or grab a quick snack if he hadn't eaten much that day, but tonight? The second he sat on his bed to take his shoes off he found himself immediately sinking into the covers.

Still in his work clothes chan fell asleep that night in an uncomfortable position with his feet planted on the floor in his work shoes and his upper body laid against the bed, it wasn't ideal in the slightest, but at this point he simply couldn't care less.
