Satoru is coming back from yet another mission, with Ijichi being the one to pick him up from the airport. The man gets a call in the middle of their route to Jujutsu High, so he pulls over to the side of the road to take it.
Satoru absentmindedly thinks about his wife, whom he hasn't seen in three days, and doesn't pay attention to the one-sided conversation. Then he feels Ijichi looking at him in the rearview mirror with a clearly worried expression, so the white-haired man instantly sits up, alarmed.
“Yes. Yes, I will let him know. Thank you, Ieiri-san.” Ijichi hangs up and frowns, turning to face him.
“Who?” Satoru asks curtly.
“Please, calm down, Gojou-san.” The man placates softly.
“My wife.” He says quietly, an unfamiliar uneasiness pooling in his guts at the realization. “How bad?”
“He is fine, just a few scratches, Gojou-san. Please stop releasing your cursed energy.” Ijichi pleads with a wince.
Satoru blinks several times, perplexed. He didn't even notice when he lost control. “What happened?”
The man’s frown deepens. “First years were sent on a mission, which they cleared, but then Gojou-san’s wife was targeted by some assassins. Ieiri-san explicitly said that the other men ended up in worse shape.”
He explains and sends him an unsure glance. “Your killing intent is leaking, Gojou-san.” Ijichi murmurs weakly.
Satoru doesn't care. Someone tried to kill Yuuji. Someone dared to target his wife. Unforgivable. He wasn't this furious in years. As much as he has an urge to find those motherfuckers and kill them right away, his first thought is still Yuu-chan. Satoru needs to make sure, he needs to see for himself that the boy is okay.
“Take me to my wife, Ijichi.” He orders and takes a few deep breaths to calm himself forcefully.
The man sends him more concerned glances throughout the ride, but they don't talk. Satoru is making an effort to stay as composed as he can in this situation. When they reach Tokyo Jujutsu High, he immediately takes off his blindfold and searches with his Six Eyes for Yuuji, trying to pinpoint the boy's unique cursed energy with Sukuna's faded presence. He finds his wife in Shouko's office, as do Megumi and Nobara. The white-haired man doesn't waste any time, teleporting himself right in front of the door to open it harshly.
His sudden appearance cuts their conversation off, with all of them turning toward him. Someone asks something, but he ignores that, focusing on his wife completely. Satoru uses his Six Eyes again to try and find any scratch or harm on Yuuji's body, and it lasts only one second yet feels like eternity, with the man holding his breath in anticipation. Then he exhales with relief, takes a few steps, and pulls his wife into his safe arms, hugging him tightly.
“Toru?” Yuu-chan murmurs hesitantly into Satoru’s neck, his face squished there.
The man closes his eyes and rests his head on the boy's shoulder, relaxing into the embrace. “Don't talk, don't move. Just let me stay like this for a moment.” He says in a hushed tone.
A moment later, Yuuji wraps his own arms around Satoru and starts to stroke his back reassuringly. The man is grateful for the lack of platitudes—just his wife being there, his silent presence providing comfort.
It's odd, but the thought of losing the boy makes Satoru oddly uneasy, almost scared. Which is ridiculous. He? The Strongest? Fearing something? He guesses it's because he got so used to having Yuu-chan around, but also because this is his wife. And Satoru is fond of everything that belongs to him.
There is a very pointed sound of a throat clearing, and suddenly the man has to finally acknowledge others, snapping his head up and straightening his back. Shit. From the people here, only Nobara thinks that Yuuji really is Satoru's wife. He can feel Shouko's and Megumi's stares boring into him, so he turns to find the woman squinting her eyes with a knowing smirk while the dark-haired boy has his eyebrows slightly raised, looking very judgmental.
“Stop showing off your relationship already.” Nobara scoffs with her arms crossed. “I feel like I'm being called single without even a word. So stop.” She huffs out an annoyed breath.
“Hm?” Satoru tilts his head and blinks innocently, then pulls Yuuji a bit from him to place a kiss on his wife's forehead, healing all remaining scratches and bruises by doing so. “Now it's all good~!” He exclaims cheerfully, tugging the boy back into a hug. “So? Where are they?” The man turns towards Shouko with a terrifying smile.
She snorts. “No killing, Gojou.”
“Eeeh~? That's boring!” He pouts.“It's okay, Satoru. They didn't hurt me. I beat them up properly.” Yuuji butts in with a sheepish smile. “I'm sorry for worrying my husband. But I'm really okay, see? So, don't be angry.” His wife says with a concerned frown.
“Yuu-chan.” Satoru smiles softly at the boy. “I can't forgive someone who tries to touch my wife.” He admits truthfully. “And I really want to kill them now~” The man grins.
“But I don't want my husband to kill anyone because of me.” His wife mumbles with a cute pout adoring his face, and then looks up, his eyes big and pleading. “Please?”Satoru blinks and pulls the boy into yet another embrace with a thrill. “My wife is so cute~” He coos, rubbing his face into Yuuji's hair. “I'm not giving Yuu-chan to any of you!” He declares, hiding Yuuji from view protectively.
He is met with three deadpan stares.
“Are you done, Gojou?” Megumi asks in a resigned tone.
Satoru giggles, hugging his wife closely, and nods.
