“Abroad.” The boy murmurs.
“Shit. We will take you to Ieiri-san, okay? You are definitely not training with us today.” The girl decides and pats him on the shoulder reassuringly. “You should tell us beforehand if you are unwell.” She nags.
Yuuji pouts while Sukuna snorts. Maki-senpai glances at his hand, only now noticing the mouth there. She raises one of her eyebrows, but doesn't comment on it. Inumaki-senpai jogs up to them with a water bottle and frowns when he sees the pink-haired boy closely.
“Mustard leaf.” He says this worriedly while passing the bottle to the girl, also crouching down.
“Yeah. Bring Panda since someone will need to carry Yuuji to Ieiri-san’s office. I will stay with him.” Maki-senpai orders, and the white-haired boy nods, then runs out in a hurry. “Can you sit, Yuuji? Water should help, but I don't want you to choke.” She kneels, ready to assist him.
Yuuji smiles, appreciating all the help and worry from people around him. “I will try, Senpai.” He murmurs, and since Sukuna doesn't stop him this time, the boy slowly sits up.
The girl sits right next to him. “Lean on me if you need it.” She proposes while giving him water. “Don't drink too quickly. Small sips.” She advises patiently.
Yuuji takes the bottle with gratitude and slowly drinks from it. After a few sips, he gives it back and takes a shaky breath. “Thank you, Senpai.” He whispers truthfully.
She just guides him to lean his head on her shoulder wordlessly and pats his hair a few times. The boy smiles again.
“What happened?” Panda comes to them, with Inumaki-senpai following. “Yuuji, you okay? You look terrible. Half-dead almost.” He states.
The boy laughs lightly and regrets it, his abdomen squeezing uncomfortably. He whines.
“What's wrong?” Maki-senpai asks in an instant, alerted.
Yuuji raises his head to look at her, only to put it back right away, hit by dizziness. “I don't think I can't stand up. I'm sorry.” He says apologetically.
Senpais assure him that it's okay, and then Panda gently grabs Yuuji and secures him in his arms to take the pink-haired boy to Ieiri-san.
The woman seems surprised to see all of them in her office, then she takes one glance at Yuuji and frowns.
“Lay him on the bed, Panda.” She points at the corner of her office, and the pink-haired boy is delicately placed there. “And now, sho.” She waves her hand, and the second-year students scatter obediently.
“Any other symptoms besides paleness and a risk of faintness?” She asks curtly while washing her hands.
A moment later, Ieiri-sensei approaches him with a blood pressure monitor. When the device clutches to his left arm, the woman leans towards his face.
“Let me check something.” She murmurs and lightly cups his face to pull his skin under the eye with her thumb. She hums. “Like I thought. Seems like an anemia to me.” The woman decides.
The boy blinks. “And what's that?” He asks slowly.
Ieiri-sensei smiles a bit and checks the results with a nod. “Yep. Low blood pressure and low iron levels, I believe. Your body doesn't produce enough hemoglobin, and because of that, your blood doesn't carry enough oxygen to your lungs. That's why you feel so bad right now.” She explains. “But to get it so bad this fast is concerning.” The woman frowns. “I will make some blood tests, Yuuji, but I also need to tell your guardian about your state.” She says it pointedly while raising her eyebrows.
His guardian…? Oh no.
“No, please, Ieiri-sensei. Don't tell Satoru anything. He will freak out. I don't want him to lose focus while overseas on a mission.” Yuuji pleads pitifully.
The woman squints her eyes in thought and then sighs. “You are right, he might overreact a bit, knowing his weak spot for you. But. I can't let you go back to your apartment alone in this condition, Yuuji.” She says sternly. “Someone needs to be with you. So, either you are staying at the dorms with your peers until your dumb husband comes back, or you are contacting the Gojou family.” Ieiri-sensei decides and raises one of her eyebrows expectantly. The boy pouts at yet another person calling Toru dumb, and thinks it through. “I don't want to make Okaa-san worry too.” He mumbles, troubled, then nods. “It should be fine if I stay here, right?” Yuuji makes sure.
She smiles slightly. “I don't see any problem, dorms have enough free rooms. For now, you are going to be with me, either way. I need to take your blood sample, and then I will give you an IV infusion with some vitamins, nutrients, and electrolytes to get you back on your feet. It's safe and will help you the quickest. After we get results, we can think of iron therapy and discuss it with your guardian.” The woman ends and smiles wider. “Don't be so scared, Yuuji. I will take care of you, I promise.” She chuckles and pats his hair gently. “Whatever it is, we will fight it together, hm?”
Yuuji takes a deep breath. “I will be in your care, Ieiri-sensei.” He smiles back.
