“Anything you need, Yuuji?” Uraume asks a second later.“No, I'm fine. Thank you.” The boy sighs again and closes his eyes, waiting.
“Bring him something to drink, Uraume.” Sukuna demands.
“Of course, Sukuna-sama.” And they are gone.
Yuuji opens his eyes to find his peers looking at him with amusement.
“It's not funny.” He mutters in betrayal. “I can't do anything.” He complains with a pout.
“Oh, Yuuji.” Nobara pats his shoulder a few times with a smile. “That's because they are worried about you.”
“Thankfully, it will be over soon.” Yuuji replies and smiles when his baby kicks at the words.
The first time it happened, it was actually Sukuna who seemed more amazed by it, even demanding to switch and feel it himself.
“Stop kicking your grandpa.” He grumbled, hiding his endearment, and Yuuji was laughing so hard because of his reaction.
Less fortunately, his husband also witnessed this touching scene and went through a rollercoaster of emotions at finding out about them being relatives. Yet Toru didn't have a choice but to accept it, a bit skeptical about the entire thing.
“Because how is it even possible? There is literally a millennium between you two!” He pointed out wisely.
Yuuji just shrugged.
“Are you jealous, Six Eyes? Or are you not satisfied that I am acknowledging your wife as someone who also partly belongs to me?” Sukuna asked, and the dam broke, with the two men yelling at themselves until the boy had to scream louder and tell both to shut up and stop scaring his daughter.
Yeah. It was hard, but they got to the point where they were able to talk it out calmly.
Now all of them are simply a pretty odd family. Uraume included.
_____________It's amazing how quickly their baby is growing and how his wife is handling the pregnancy. Satoru is so proud of Yuu-chan.
The man’s mother is very involved in their life now since the boy would have problems going shopping for the necessary supplies for their daughter, and by the amount of bills, Satoru learns that the baby needs a lot of things. He leaves this matter fully in the woman's hands.
Uraume is still hard to figure out, with them being glued to Yuuji only because of Sukuna. And isn't it ridiculous? Yet, his wife seems to be okay around them, so the man permits it, a bit impressed at their reliability.
Coming to terms with the fact that Sukuna is related to Yuu-chan was a process similar to grieving for Satoru, the man going through all the stages reluctantly. It's hard to believe until that day, but even more incredulous is Sukuna’s actual care towards Yuuji and, as an extension, their daughter. As if his entire personality changed after meeting the boy. Maybe it's just Yuu-chan's magic. Since Sukuna is clearly on their side, Satoru can't complain.
Now the white-haired man calls them The Strongest Protective Duo in his mind, knowing exactly how his wife hates their involvement all the time, but the man can't help it. His urge to make sure that both the pregnant boy and their baby are safe and sound is too strong to fight it.
And then, the day comes.
It's actually one of regular Yuu-chan's check-ups, so Satoru is not expecting Shouko to give a green light to birthing.
“Seriously? Like, today? Like, right now?” He needs to make sure, and the boy chuckles at his disbelief.
“Why are you panicking, Toru? We were preparing for it this entire time. I want to see our daughter already.” His wife says softly while caressing his evident bump tenderly.
“I believe she is strong enough to survive on her own now. Also, Yuuji bearing a child, even with his transformed body, still doesn't seem too healthy for me.” The woman adds with a frown. “It would be better if we did it now than later.”
Satoru nods. “Today, it is.” He decides instantly, because if it comes to Yuu-chan's health, he is not hesitating.
“I agree with the woman doctor.” Sukuna appears. “My granddaughter is ready to meet this world.” He grins, and the man scowls.
Shouko explains the process to them both, talking about the anesthetic and C-section, with Sukuna meddling about the cutting part to point at a better angle.
“Sukuna-sama is very knowledgeable in this field.” Uraume informs them all proudly.
Probably because he tortured a lot of people, but who cares about the details?
Satoru is thrown out of the room, with Shouko deciding that Uraume would be the one to assist her.
“It should take an hour or less.” The woman said this right before closing the door.
It's yet another time when the man is left out, passing absentmindedly around the corridor, worried. If something goes wrong, they will surely inform him. Hopefully, it won't.
He hears it, then. A baby’s cry. Satoru freezes and needs to refrain himself from getting inside in this instant, calling for his inner patience.
Shouko lets him in a few moments later, leaving them alone, and the man freezes at the sight again.
Yuuji is half-sitting and half-laying on the bed, looking tired and a bit pale but extremely happy, holding in his arms their sleeping daughter and gazing at her with all his love. The first thing Satoru notices is that the baby has his white hair. When he finally comes closer, he also sees long white eyelashes. Then, for a split second, the baby opens her eyes, and just like that, his breath is taken away.
“Kohaku.” Satoru whispers, captivated, and Yuu-chan glances at him knowingly.
“I thought the same, Toru. There is no other choice.” He smiles and looks back at their daughter, equally charmed.
“She is so beautiful, Yuuji.” Satoru murmurs and sits next to them to just watch the baby girl, entranced, then leans towards his wife. “I'm so proud of you, my love.” He confesses truthfully and kisses Yuu-chan's forehead with affection. “How do you feel?” He asks, caressing his wife's cheek with concern.
“I'm okay. Sukuna healed the cut.” Yuuji replies with a brave smile. “I can't believe she is finally here with us.” He whispers, fixing the blanket around their daughter. “Our Kohaku-chan.”
They had a lot of ideas but decided to name her after meeting their baby properly. Those eyes made them agree on it in unison, apparently.
“Want to hold her, Toru?” His wife asks softly and raises the baby expectantly.
Satoru takes Kohaku into his arms without hesitation and huffs a quiet, endearing laugh.
