Bubba Bubbaphant

"I decided to make Macaroni and Cheese for dinner today. If that's okay with you," I said. "Sure, why not. I'll eat whatever you cook. I'm hungry as heck," Kickin accepted. I put him down on the couch where he can rest more easily. "Stay here. I'll make dinner. You can watch the T.V but don't get off this couch," I said. "Sure Bubbs," Kickin said.

He gave me a new nickname and I was flustered for a bit. "Stop playing with me Kickin and I swear I will feed you chicken nuggets," I threatened again. "Stop feeling so tense man. You need to loosen up a little, have a little fun," Kickin said. I said nothing but stayed silent for a few seconds. "I'll go now, STAY where you are," I said. I head to the kitchen, grabbing the ingredients for dinner.

(Thirty minutes later)

It took a while but dinner was finally done. I let the mac n cheese cool down a little since it's way too hot to be eaten. I went back to the living room to see Kickin laying down on the couch while watching T.V. "Hey Bubbs," he said. "Again with the nickname," I said annoyed. "Yeah, is there a problem with it? It suits you, you know," Kickin said. He finished his sentence with his eyes closed and a big smile around his face.

I looked at his face and it was...breathtaking. I could feel my heart pumping so fast I felt like I couldn't breathe. I inhaled and exhaled to calm my nerves, which Kickin had caught on. "Woah dude, you good? Do you want to lay down?" Kickin asked. "Y~Yeah...maybe it's for the best," I accepted. Kickin moved his body slowly to not cause any strain on his leg and left some space for me to sit down. Of course I sat down next to him feeling much calmer and relaxed. "You feeling good big guy?" Kickin said. "Yeah...thanks," I said. "Was I too much for you?" Kickin asked.

"No, not really. I guess I had a long day today," I said. Of course that would be my best answer but I would be lying. "If that's the case, then I'll dial down my act for you," Kickin said. I look at him feeling like I made him the problem to my little breathing problem. "Oh you don't need to do that Kickin. It wasn't your fault anyway," I reassured.

"Look Bubbs, I get it," Kickin said. I look at him in confusion as to what he means. "It's been hard since we came here because of...Catnap," Kickin said. His tone was cold when he said his name. "But you were there to help in overcoming those fears. You were like our second leader and I'm grateful for that. Without you, we wouldn't go back to the way we all used to be, happy and outgoing," Kickin said. "Heh, thanks Kickin. That means a lot to me, really," I said. I gave him a smile after I finished giving my gratitude to Kickin.

"There's the smile I'm after," Kickin said. "You play too much," I said. "I know but that doesn't mean I'm not aware," Kickin jokes. "I'm surprised that you said such words to lift my spirits up. You became smarter that I expected," I complimented. "I get it from you. Your brain is rubbing on me," Kickin joked again. "C'mon, let's go eat. The food must be cool now," I said. I got up and grabbed Kickin off the couch, carrying him into my arms.

"Heh, this chicken is admirable. Wait...what am I thinking?" I thought. I could feel myself getting flustered by the second but I had to calm down because one wrong step and I'll fall down along with Kickin and would hurt his leg again. We arrived at the dinner table and I placed Kickin on his seat. "I'll serve you a plate, I'll be back," I told Kickin. I went to the kitchen and grabbed two plates, filling them with the macaroni and cheese for the both of us. As I finished filling the plates, I placed the pan in the sink and let it get wet to take the cheese to make washing it easier.

A few seconds had passed and I turned off the faucet and headed back to the dinner table. "Here is your plate Kickin. I hope you like what I made," I said as I handed his plate. He grabbed the spoon, picked up a portion of the mac n cheese, and put it in his mouth. "Wow, this is really good," Kickin said. "You like it?" I asked. "I love it. It's awesome Bubbs," Kickin complimented. Again, feeling a bit flustered, "What is this feeling? Why can't I stop feeling like this?" I thought. I sat down next to Kickin and we ate for the rest of the evening.

After we finished, I picked up the plates and placed them in the sink. I quickly headed back to Kickin so I could get him off his seat. "Hey Kickin," I called. He turned his head quickly, "Yeah Bubbs," he said. "I'm taking you to my room so we can prepare to sleep. My bed is big enough for the both of us and I need to keep an eye on you while you're staying with me," I said. "Okay," Kickin said. I carried him and took him upstairs to my bedroom. I placed him on the bed carefully and let him lay down. "I'll be back. I'm going to wash the dishes and come back up here," I said.

Kickin nodded and I left my room, leaving the door wide open. I went downstairs to the kitchen and washed the dishes. All of sudden, I started to remember Kickin's smile for some reason. "Why are you always on my head? Why does you smiling give me such a feeling? Why?" All of these thoughts gave me more questions than answers. It frustrates me not knowing the solution to the problem.

I finished washing the dishes and went back upstairs. "Hey Bubbs," Kickin saluted. I looked at him and he was...holding a book? "Why do you have that book in your hands?" I asked. "Oh this! Well, I was a bit bored so I went through your mini library that was next to me and found this. It's about a cool guy doing the greatest skateboard tricks of all time. It kinda interests me," Kickin answered. "It seems you are going through character development," I said. "What's that?" Kickin asked. "It's when someone goes through a phase of maturing and expanding their interest and personality," I explained.

"Well that seems...cool," Kickin said. "I'm going to take a shower. You can stay there and read if you like," I said. Kickin nodded and he went back to his book. I grabbed my towel, a change of clothes and went to the bathroom. My bathroom is connected to my room so there was no problem. I went inside and stripped off my clothing and went inside the shower.

(Ten minutes later)

I finished showering and I put my underwear and pajama pants on. I got out of my bathroom until I heard. "Dang Bubbs, who knew you were the type to flex their upper body," Kickin said. I completely forgot that Kickin was here. And here I thought an elephant never forgets. I can feel my ancestors drowning their eyes on me in disappointment. If I had any. Back to where I was, I was red all over my face, "Ahh, look away Kickin!" I yelled. "Hahaha, did you forget that I was here?" Kickin laughed. I quickly put my shirt on to cover my upper body.

I was upset with Kickin since he laughed at my mistake. I layed down on my bed, away from Kickin, gesturing my anger to him. "Aww Bubbs, don't do this to me. I was only joking. Plus you saw me half-naked either way so we're even," Kickin said. I then picked my body up from laying down and looked at Kickin. "You're right Kickin. I'm sorry about that," I apologized. "No worries dude, plus we're both men so what difference does it make," Kickin said.

"You're right, I was being a bit dramatic," I apologize once again. "Well I'm heading to sleep. Goodnight Bubbs," Kickin said. "Good night Kiki," I blurted out. Kickin then shot up and quickly looked at me. "Now I have a nickname. Guess we're even again," Kickin said. "Guess we are," I said. We both then drifted off to sleep preparing for what's coming tomorrow.
